One year ago this weekend the iconic mermaid statue returned to her home at The Mermaid in Mounds View, MN.

Still such a cool piece of Minnesota roadside history to have back where she belongs.

135 feet tall. Green letters you can spot from French Lake.
No fancy paint job — just clean, classic DAYTON.

This tower sits tucked in the trees off 117th, but from the air you can see the whole northwest corner — Dayton, Rogers, and Champlin.

Heavy iron, massive grading, and miles of drainage pipe. This is what the $170+ million "Thrive on 65" beginning transformation looks like from 200 feet above. 🚧
Crews are systematically tearing up the landscape just south of 103rd Way and north of 99th Ave NE to install deep storm utilities and lay out the new network of side roads running parallel to the highway. These service roads are designed to route local neighborhood and business traffic safely away from the main highway lanes and straight into the upcoming 99th Avenue overpass. It's a massive overhaul designed to finally fix one of the north metro's worst traffic bottlenecks.
