Getting photos of yourself on your wedding day can seem a little scary! I know, I was there not that long ago. Regardless of if you have modeled a million times or have only had your picture taken on an iPhone, it is my goal to make your experience in front of my camera laidback and fun while still helping you feel confident and beautiful on your big day! ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Here are a couple of my tricks:

1. Movement, movement, movement: At first brides feel silly when I tell them to spin, walk swaying your dress back and forth or playing with your veil, but this always gets brides laughing, smiling that big cheesy smile and helping you to relax!

2. My documentary approach: By far, the best way to get a natural looking photo is to catch you acting naturally around your friends and family. This is why I believe in capturing moments as they happen and telling your story as it happens. It feels less forced, and the more comfortable you are, the better the photos will turn out.

3. I love lightly-posed moments as well: While I enjoy capturing candid moments, I also am not going to leave you stranded in front of the camera. I will give you advice, hype you up and adjust poses during your bridals to help you look your very very best!

I have been holding on to these photos from our sweet time down in Tucson running around the desert with Elizabeth and Trystin! Adam and I left this session and we couldn't stop talking about how cute these two are! I am so grateful for a job where I get to meet people from all over the world! ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​I can't wait for the next chance to head back down to Arizona to meet and photograph more couples like them!

I have MIA the last couple of weeks, but I had the AMAZING opportunity to travel around New Zealand. It was by far my favorite place I have ever been! While I was there I had the sweet opportunity to take maternity/engagement photos for Tyler and Ethan. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​This beach session was the perfect spot for the two of them. The pink and blue skies, the rolling hills and the perfect tide made this session perfect!!

Walking into 2024 (film camera in hand) excited to capture some more love!!​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​I don't show my face around here enough, so I thought it was time 😊️😊️ I am a Minnesota based wedding photographer and film maker with a passion for Jesus, travel and capturing life as it happens on my camera!

Facts about me:
-I am actually a 2024 bride!! My fiancé and I are having a small micro wedding in the red rocks of Sedona this February!!
-My latest obsession in my 1980's Nikon Underwater Film Camera that I take almost everywhere! I love trying to capture our day to day life and our travels on it.
-I love running and hiking. We are actually spending the winter in Tucson, AZ to get more sun and enjoy hiking through the mountains
-My hope and joy come from my relationship with Jesus
-My cat Winston travels with me and I even have a backpack for him to go on hikes with me (hopefully this fact doesn't make you flee from my page ;))

About Captured By Sav:
-Captured By Sav is a Minnesota based photography brand, but I am traveling often and love to capture love all over the world
-I would describe my work as documentary-style photography with an artistic and creative twist. I love to capture moments as they actually happen while also throwing in some creative shots (especially a good black and white photo :))
-My approach to posing is to keep it simple and your love will do the rest. I love to give prompts that causes natural moments to happen. For example, "chase each other" or "run up behind her and give her a huge hug"

2023 was a year of growth, amazing couples and lots of laughter and cheesy smiles. Bring it on 2024!!
