History isn’t just found in textbooks—it’s found in the shoeboxes of old photos under our grandparents' beds, dresser drawers and old albums.

Celebrating my Mom and my three aunts this . This shot from the 60s ( taken at my Grandparents home, in the den ) and is a reminder of the women who helped to shape me and creating the person that I am today.

I’ve always loved photography, and seeing my own family’s journey through a lens makes me appreciate this photo even more!

This photo is more than a "pretty picture"—it’s a document showing a story frozen in time. It’s history, forever frozen in time.

This is why I’ve being a lifestyle photographer because I get to help families and couples like you create history and precious moments, preserving your piece of history.

Happy International Women’s Day.

To all of the beautiful, loving, kind, strong amazing women in this world!

Happy Women’s History Month!

As a Lifestyle Family & Couples Photographer, I have the privilege of freezing Your Life, Your Moments and Your Stories in time.

But as a Black Woman behind the lens, I know I’m doing more than just hitting a shutter button—I’m claiming space.

I’m out here creating history in real-time, setting the stage so the next generation of Black women photographers knows they belong in this frame, too.

Truth is, in 100 years, I won’t be here. But my hope? That when future Black women photographers look back at this era, they feel:

* Inspired to tell and share their own stories.
* Motivated to break every glass ceiling.
* Worthy of making history themselves.

As Women , we aren't just taking photos; we’re building a legacy!

So, let’s keep creating, keep shining, and keep making history together.

I know the weight of the world is really heavy right now and that it’s hard to smile, laugh, be silly and work on your business.

But, I want you to do me a favor.

Protect your peace, laughter and joy at all costs and try to find time to laugh with the ones you love. (After you scream - See my last post ).

Stay safe out there beautiful souls.

What’s going on in Minneapolis right now is heartbreaking, nerve wracking, crazy and not fair.

At all.

It makes me sad, afraid, angry and exhausted and there not much that I can do about it however, I have one suggestion that has helped me to work through the pain of it all.

Scream! Yes, I said it. Scream!

Go outside, on your deck, balcony, backyard, the park or wherever you feel comfortable without freaking out your neighbors ) and just scream!

I mean scream like your life depends on it.

How does this help? It helps because it allows you to let go of some of the tension you’re feeling about what’s going on right now.

Will it solve the world’s problems, what’s going on in Minneapolis and other cities in the U.S.?

No!

However, it will make you feel better. Even if just for a moment, it will help!

Stay safe out there Minneapolis! Stand tall! Stay strong!

And don’t forget to SCREAM!

Throwback January 2025!

2026 is here and the start of this year ( like last year ) was a crazy time for the U.S.

And this year, especially in Minneapolis, has been a tough one however, 2025 also had a lot of great moments.

Time with friends, artist friends, photo friends, my hunny bunny and networking with so many beautiful souls, also made 2025 a great year for me!

At the end of 2025, I had a plan to post my “ Year in Review “ however, with the state of our country at this time and the weight of it all, I did not have the energy to do it.

So, instead of that, I decided to share memories of 2025 in bite size portions in 2026 starting with moments from January of 2025!

I was honored to attend this beautiful event at the African American Heritage Museum in Minneapolis with artist, educator, and jewelry maker, Amy Wilderson!

The event was called “ Revived Forgotten Treasure, Reviving Memories “ and it was an empowering, inspiring, and awesome event/artist show!

It was a great way to start the year, despite the tension during that time in Jan. of 2025.

And even though, 2026 started off with fear, anger, concern, and exhaustion, I’m determined to make 2026 a great year!

Here’s to 2026, and an awesome throwback from 2025!

“ Our Lives Begin to End the Day we become silent about things that matter.”

Martin Luther King Jr.

I’ve been silent over the past few weeks watching the unfolding of chaos all over the world and in Minneapolis. Normally, I don’t post about political issues but today it’s, different.

It’s heartbreaking, scary, and chaotic what’s been going on not only on however, I’m proud of Minneapolis for standing up for all of the beautiful souls that make are city great!

Even though life feels like a never ending Twilight Zone right now, I know that in the end, we will survive, thrive and carry on. It may take a while, but it will happen!

Stay safe out there, stay strong, hug your neighbors, your friends, your family and your community.

“ Love is the Only force Capable of Transforming an Enemy into a friend.”

Martin Luther King Jr.
