We had an eventful week including a trip to Duluth for a little getaway and then had three Easter celebrations with family!!

Today Liam had another eye exam under anesthesia and it went great! We got the all clear, which means that he can move to having EUA’s every three months!! This is a huge milestone and we are so excited!!

Thank you to the Rebound Club, TB1 Fund and Masonic Children’s Hospital for giving us the opportunity to experience a great game this week in the box! Liam and Tim got to go to their first Timberwolves game and it was a close call between the Timberwolves and the Denver Nuggets! We brought some of the people who have been through this journey with us as a thank you! His gopher buddy, Allysa, who is a medical student at the U of M even joined us! Liam loves basketball and was excited for his new ball but we will be putting this one up on display! 🏀 Crunch even came for a special visit!

Hola! It has been a BIG week for our family! Liam started daycare this last Monday and we made it through the first week! He is going to a Spanish immersion daycare that focuses on hands on learning, play and nature. It’s been an adjustment for all of us! Going from two naps a day to only one; he has been a bit tired and cranky when he comes home. Thursday he cried when I left him, but Friday he did not want to come home. He was having too much fun singing and dancing! I like that they send daily updates on activities, naps, food, and include photos! It makes this momma feel better about sending him to daycare! It’s hard when he has been home full-time since last summer!
Having him in daycare has given me the opportunity to organize all his toys and hopefully will give us more time to spend doing fun activities and learning together when he is home. I even put together a bunch of sensory bins to play with!
He already got his first runny nose and we are starting our immune support vitamins to help ward off all the daycare germs!

World Cancer Day 2024

A day to raise awareness for those who have won their battles, those still fighting and remembering those we’ve lost to such a horrible disease.

2 Million people will be diagnosed with cancer this year alone in the United States. That is nearly 5370 cases each day!

We are grateful for the treatments that have helped my son and my husband, Timothy Anderson-Smitley. I am thankful that he has been cancer free for 25 years and we will keep praying that Liam will continue to have clear scans - this week was his 4th month of clear scans!

My sister has Leukemia and it is something she will deal with for the rest of her life. I had a parent, grandparents, aunts and uncles who fought and lost their battles. This is a disease that I would not want anyone to go through but so many of us are affected.

Before you go to bed tonight, use your time to read about a cancer story, pick an organization to donate to, learn something you didn’t know about cancer, and raise awareness. The cancer community needs you. The families need you. Our babies need you.

The last couple months we have been on social media less. We had lots of family time, illnesses, Christmas events, visited Duluth, made Christmas cookies and Tim and I have been very busy with our jobs. We are making Liam his own Jungle/Safari Bedroom and are so excited for him to have his own space! Liam also had his first modeling job!

We were sad to lose my uncle to Cancer this past month. It is such a hard season for loss! I know that we have lots of family members in heaven looking down on us 💕

Liam is feeling just as tired as we are! He can be full of energy and then be ready to sleep 🛌 in no time. So we give him time to rest and also let ourselves do that too, even if the house isn’t clean or the to-do list isn’t complete!

I know some people have been asking for updates! We are thankful to share that he had his third eye exam since his last round of chemotherapy today and it came back clear! Three more months of clear scans and we can move his eye exams under anesthesia to every three months!

If you know me then you definitely know how much I love to talk! This week has been a rough one… I feel alright but I have a terrible cough that irritated my voice box and caused laryngitis… Treatment = Self Care 💆‍♀️ Warm Tea, Fluids, throat lozenges, inhaler, and little to no talking… the last one is tough with a toddler and a blind husband!

Mommy went shopping and got Liam his Christmas presents today. They will still be wrapped and put under the tree!! I enjoy being able to bring him at this age while I do the shopping and he has no idea! He is excited to play with them though and was squealing with excitement tonight when we showed daddy!

I just want to share how much I love shopping at Target. I could have paid over $110 for these toys. Instead I decided to scan them all in the Target app and found that they were cheaper online - Actually a couple were half the price! I took a screenshot of the online price and showed the cashier when they rung me up. Then I used Target Circle and got 30% off Fischer Price Toys, $5 off a toy purchase, 10% off my total purchase, and 5% off for using my Target debit card.

I paid $44 for all his Christmas presents!! 🎁 Thankful to have such an easy Christmas shopping experience!

We had a busy Friday! Liam had his photoshoot with Summer Street Photography - he sure loves Kendra! We can’t wait to see all the beautiful photos she took of our family!

Then we got to join the TB1Fund in the suite for the Bulldog vs Gopher Game! Thank you Braxton!

It was such a fun night with Auntie Catherine and Anabelle and we even got to go see Uncle Tyler and Gretchen! The Gophers won 5:1 and Liam was so good all night even if he was tired!

We have had such a FUN and BUSY week celebrating Halloween! 🎃 First Liam and I took a trip to Marshall's Farm Market and he found a few ghost 👻 friends! Then we went Trick-or Treating with the Minnesota Gophers and HopeKids, the following day we hosted two Halloween parties! A family friendly one and an adult party - both consisted of goody bags, spooky milk, treats, taco-tot hot dish, coloring pages, and fun with our friends and family! The kids got to decorate pumpkins and the adults got to play card games! Saturday we went Trunk-or-treating with Hope Kids and then went to a family Halloween party!

Liam dressed up as a fawn 🦌, Binx from Hocus Pocus and the Rugrat, Chuckie Finster!

Today was a well deserved day of rest - naps, Halloween Movies 🎥 , and time together at home!

Liam got to be the ring bearer in his aunties wedding a couple weekends ago and when he wasn’t tired and crying he was the life of the party! He cried going down the aisle, but he cheered after the I do’s 💞Of course he loved all the music and dancing! Congrats, Auntie Sharon and Uncle Russ! 🐻
