Hey, everyone šš¼ wanted to spend a moment re-introducing myself to everyone following me here. Itās been a while and Iām pretty inconsistent, but youāve stuck with me and for that Iām incredibly grateful.
Iāve been photographing weddings and people, professionally, for 15 years now. Minneapolis has been home, but photography and my clients have taken me all over the country. Itās felt like the blink of an eye. Iām not just a wedding and portrait photographer, however. Iām just a photographer. I want to make photos everywhere I am and in a lot of different contexts. It can be difficult to share that when so much of my āworkā is wedding related. But, I also love photographing architecture, nature, everyday scenes and the mundane, and all of it with film, which Iāve used since high school.
I have been married to the same amazing woman for the past 20 years and we have three kidsā¦the oldest started helping me photograph weddings this year!
I have constant anxiety over how photography will fit into my life as I age and wonder how much longer Iāll be photographing weddings. My love for them hasnāt changed, but I canāt deny Iām getting older. The gray in my beard tells me so. Iāll be here as long as the clients are I suppose.
I love the outdoors. I have found a peace in hiking different locations and creating on these hikes has helped clear my head, lately. Itās amazing what time out in nature can do for our souls. The smells, sights, sounds and fresh air really are a balm. Praying, while amongst the pines and rushing water is truly a gift. I could spend all day there.
Thanks to my friend, Eric for the few captures while out making photographs the other day.
Iāve also shared a handful of my own photos from this time. Developed by myself and .foto using C41 kit, and scanned using .supply with a Nikon D850 and 105mm 2.8D Macro lens.
Thanks for following yaāll. Iām very thankful to have this small community and your support means the world to me.
