"Legacy"

Rwamutwe keeping guard over the Nkuringo family in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

After the elder Silverback Rafiki was poached & killed in June 2020, Rwamutwe a black back at the time, assumed leadership in the tribe with support from brother Tabu.

Without his stable leadership, the troop would likely have been dispersed into other families. The Nkuringo family was the first in Uganda to be tracked; thanks to Rwamutwe & Tabu, Rafiki's legacy lives on.

A tender moment between a female mountain gorilla and her 2 week old infant at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Weighing between 4-5 lbs, this newborn gorilla will be in constant contact with it's mother for the next 6 months and 2-3 years in infancy.

”Portrait of a Chimpanzee”

Trekking the tropical Kalinzu Rainforest of Queen Elizabeth National Park in Southwest Uganda, drenched with sweat from the humid canyon descent, we happened upon a small family of Chimpanzees.

With the humidity fogging my camera’s viewfinder I struggled to keep up with the flurry of movement from the active primates. Fortune favoring the bold, in this brief moment I was blessed to capture this rare portrait.

Ever the opportunist, this brazen fox was captured as it traipsed around Washington Harbor Campground in search of a snack. Later spotted "snacking" on a bird as we searched along the boardwalk for a camping spot.

"Equus Ferus"

Having ventured to specifically to catch a glimpse of the free-roaming mustangs of the park, I was quite grateful to have such magnificent creatures run right through our campsite. For only a few brief moments was I able to witness a game of "tag" played between this stallion and another as they vied for the hearts of the nearby mares.
