To my clients who may or may not know what’s currently happening in Minnesota, ICE has a heavy presence around the Twin Cities over the past few months. As someone who calls this place home, it’s been really hard to witness the fear, pain, and uncertainty this has caused for many in our community, myself included.
Toward the end of 2025, I made a promise to myself to push my creativity and photograph something meaningful each month in 2026. What better way to begin that creative journey than by documenting strong Minnesotans—embracing the cold, taking to the streets of Minneapolis, and using their voices around something that matters deeply to them.
As a photographer, I believe it’s important to document moments like this. These moments deserve to be documented — not as spectacle, but as part of the history unfolding in our communities.
