My favorite hues in my favorite place. It’s always special to bring couples to the St. Croix Valley, and this spot holds a very dear place in my heart.

We spent the first part of the session in town, and headed down to the falls as the sun set. It was a warm evening in September, and A+G decided to take a dip in the river before beginning the long drive back to Nebraska. Their wedding in April is going to be so, so, so special, and I’m already counting down the days!

Alexis and Eric’s October day brought 85 degree weather and wind gusts, and we had fun with it! I’m a sucker for a windy day, and it brought so much movement and energy to the outdoor portraits. This was a long, long awaited day for these two, who have grown up together over more than a decade since meeting in high school, and you could feel that through every minute, in every conversation. They chose a venue just two blocks from their apartment, and it felt all the more home-y for it. Seeing their family and friends rally around them—through tears of joy, long toasts and an intimate, candlelit reception—is something I won’t soon forget.
