I met Kristin at work 10 years ago and since then, we've gotten to hang out as friends & coworkers, as well as take engagement, wedding and now family photos. I remember when she started dating Mitchell and now they have two beautiful girls.

Can these little ladies get any cuter? The matching purple dresses are adorable 😊
Even tho the littlest wasn't having it for most of the session, we managed to get a few smiles, courtesy of my squirrel cheerleader (if you've had a session with me, you know what I'm talking about!)

Thanks so much to my repeat clients. You have no idea how much I appreciate you choosing me every year and I LOVE watching your kids grow. ❤️

The funny thing about being the photographer who calls the shots, you can get teenage boys to hold hands with their parents 😀. And it was worth it!

I joked with Marie while we were taking this photo, that it was motherhood in a nutshell. One kid's finger in your mouth, one fixing your hair and that middle child? In his own little world! As a fellow middle kid, I relate to this - my head was, is and always will be in the clouds the majority of time.

The Anderson family and I ran around (literally) Centennial Lakes a few weeks ago and boy, was it fun. These kids have personality and were a blast to photograph. Just take a peek through and you'll see!

I had a last-minute slot open up this Sunday, October 18 at Haws Farm Park in Eagan. It’s one of my favorite places to photograph. The light is always beautiful and there’s tons of great spots!

Take a peek at the last photo. That was 5 years ago, when the kids told me about elementary school and Halloween costumes.

For parents, the kids grow up in front of their eyes and subtle changes are harder to see from day to day. When I have the privilege of photographing a family for years, I get a glimpse into who they are becoming on a grander scale of a year's time. I get to watch them grow and mature.

What parents don't realize is that what I'm seeing - that big change from a year ago - is what they will see when they look back on these photos. They'll see how much their kids have changed.

Now, we talk about middle school, hockey tournaments and the responsibility of the new puppy the family is about to get.

I'm so incredibly grateful to photograph a family once, but when they choose me over and over, it's the best feeling. I love being able give families photos and films that'll provide perspective down the road.

Several parents at sessions have mentioned to me that they love the way their kids (fill in the blank). Anything from how they say a certain word or a silly gesture they make. They wonder, every time, if it'll be the last time.

Moving Portraits are a way to own those little siganture things that make your kid who they are at this age. In a pre-session questionnaire, I ask you this very thing - what makes each of your kids who they are and what do you want to remember about them?

Ryan & Natasha wanted to remember their summer through the eyes of their kids. So, during our Moving Portrait, the kids talked about a trip to Oregon, the State Fair, and the cousins at the cabin. These are core memories, recounted by little minds.

You don't need me to tell you how much I love family films, you already know. But I hope this glimpse into one family's summer helps you see the value, too.

Let me make this clear, I'm very anti-AI for most uses and that includes crafting your photographs. You deserve a level of care for artwork that will live on your walls and in your frames.

I've put 18 years into refining my photography and editing skills and I would never want to lose those skills by relying on AI to do my job for me.

It makes me incredibly sad and truly baffles me when it comes to how AI has stolen SO MANY creative people's work that came from their imaginations and creativity and brains. What a complete lack of appreciation for art.

I could go on all day about what AI is stealing from us, beyond art, but for now, I wanted you to know, your photos are handled with the utmost of respect and care.

When it's time for senior photos, it's also a prime opportunity for everyone to tag along for family photos. During Hudson's senior session, we had ample time to sneak a few.

Excelsior is such a versatile location choice because you get some "downtown" textures in the brick and staircases but you can also swing down to the beach and get greenery or the lake.
