I’ve driven by the airport in Leeds dozens of times but this was the first time I ever saw any activity there. I pulled off just as this Air Tractor was preparing to depart. Winds were calm and the taxiway only connects to the east end of the runway, so I figured they’d end up taking off the other direction and I’d just get a couple shots of the plane on the ground. I’m not sure if it was for my benefit or just because their route of flight was southeast, but as soon as we saw the pilot start backtaxiing to depart via runway 9, Natalie very astutely suggested I should run down and stand at the end, which I promptly did.

Another turkey photo I really like despite some technical flaws. I did not know turkeys really flew—like, I’d seen them jump and glide s distances or, in the immortal words of one Sheriff Woody Pride (IYKYK) “falling with style,” but these were not small trees… or small turkeys. At least one of them had the good sense to stay down on the ground with the rest of us mortals.
This was shot on film using my Minolta Maxxum 9xi and 70-210 f4 “beer can” lens using Kodak Colorplus 200.
