A great time was had!

Our Back to School promo sessions were so much more than I could have ever imagined. All the planning and chaos was so worth it. I cannot wait to photograph all the little ones later this month for our planned sessions.

All this to say, though, who you surround yourself with is so important. Yes, it was a great time. Yes, the photos are AMAZING, but what I’ll remember most and what I’ll cherish most about yesterday’s session is how my little community came together to help me out. No questions asked, no expectation of a return, no hesitation at all.

Our Back to School minis planning started months ago and every time I had a question or needed a suggestion or needed reassurance my little community was right there, every step of the way. You all know my kids will be at the session with me as assistants (everytime), I can always count on them - unless my parents are in town and they take them to a party at the zoo (really happened and I’m still upset about it lol jk) I’m always running ideas by my husband and he’s always listening and adding to the idea. But this time I reached out to some amazing ladies that I now realize I rely on so much, throughout the entire year. Thank you Diana and Sally! You ladies are the best. And our model kids’ mommas, y’all are the best too. We’ve photographed both models before but we’ve come to grow as friends and it’s always so nice to catch up. Alyssa and Paola I’m so glad to call you friends.

And then all of you! All of you reaching out and praying that the darn backdrop paper would get here on time. I feel like I made that a bigger fiasco than it should have been. But I was stressed y’all, I wanted our Back to School sessions to be perfect and that yellow paper was going to be a center point.

And of course our RGV photographer community. Community over competition every time! Thank you again Eli Infante | Portrait Photographer and Chris.

Sorry I didn’t text back I’m just here trying to remember how to make a paper airplane.

Do you all remember? Luka the labradoodle was no help. I think he saw I was a lost cause and just walked away.

I feel like most personality portrait posts talk about how "they won't be this little for too long" "they grow up too fast" I mean I wrote those type of captions too. But you all know that already. You all know that our kiddos eventually grow out of those little cheeks and the tiny toes.

I want to talk to you about why Los Ojitos, why Palomo Photography. I acknowledge that you all have the option to choose from so many photographers in the Rio Grande Valley. You have the option to choose from so many different style of photography; but there’s only one Los Ojitos.

If you don’t know me yet, the photographer behind Palomo Photography is me - Nilda. Im a wifey, mom to 3, a teacher and I like to think of myself as an artist. I’ve always been an artist. I would make cut-out paper decor when I was little and would decorate them before handing them from the tree in the front yard and waiting for someone to come buy one from me (usually just my aunt and uncles). I took art class since 7th grade and loved every moment of it. Although now that I think about it I have several unfinished pieces (I should have seen the ADHD signs since then). Speaking of ADHD, I used to have a blog, I have a notebook for sale on Amazon, and I’m trying so hard not to start up a stationary business (because who has time for another business - not me, not me, not me - maybe if I say it three times I’lll start believing it)

I’ve written out this caption several times now and realized I can’t explain why Los Ojitos, why Palomo Photography in just one post…so let’s make it a series. I’ve leave you all with this for now until tomorrow.
