✿ COMMUNITY OVER COMPETITION ✿ Photographers, creatives, small business owners—introduce yourself and your area of expertise below!
I’m all about lifting up and encouraging my colleagues and the people who are earlier on in their photography journey! And even people who have been doing it for years need encouragement sometimes—speaking from personal experience 🫣🤪

Some may say this isn’t good business practice—why would you promote your direct competitors? Why would you coach someone when they might end up being better than you and might take your clients?
In my experience, this is hardly the case. Usually, reaching out to other photographers leads to some of the most fun photo shoots I have ever done, or I walk away from interacting with them feeling so inspired and having learned something new from each other. And there will always be more than enough clients for everyone, even if you double the number of photographers out there. Everyone has their own niche, their own style, and their own personality that will resonate with different folks.
As my good friend over the phone told me yesterday, “I have a full plate of good things in my life.” I’m down to share!
I believe in the power of kindness, mentorship, and intentional, genuine friendship more than what is “good business practice”. So today, this post serves to shout the praises of other people, the work they have poured so much time and heart into, and connect people with each other to find some opportunities to partner up in ways that are good for both their creative souls & their business. 🫶🏼
Love people even when it doesn’t make sense, people! Life’s too short and unpredictable not to.
