One of the things I love most about photographing weddings is seeing how each couple customizes their day to speak to exactly who they are.
And Drew and Alex definitely did that in spades. Their venue was Alexâs grandparentsâ property (a super special place Alex holds dearly), they took time to share private vows with each other before their ceremony, incorporated their pups into the processional, had their ceremony officiated by Drewâs sister, and they paid homage to Drewâs photography background by having friends and family take photos of themselves and add a note to attach to a ribbon hanging from the âpoetreeeâ. Drew and Alex and even took polaroid portraits of themselves during their ceremony (as well as a selfie with them and all their guests), which was such a fun moment for everyone. Kiddos from their family blew bubbles down the aisle, Alexâs cousin read a poem, and table numbers came in the form of paintings Alexâs great grandma had done. And, they cut their cake with a sword!
So, suffice it to say, their wedding was 100% uniquely them, and it was absolutely fabulous.
Drew and Alex! What an honor it was to get to capture such a spectacular day for you two, and get to hang out with all your wonderful friends and family. I couldnât think of a better day for two truly rad people. Thank you for inviting me to document the start of what I know will be an amazing marriage. Cheers to love and cheers to you!
