Hi! 👋 If you’re new here, I wanted to take a minute to introduce myself.

I’m Shannon, the face behind Swanner Photography. I’ve been behind the camera for nearly 20 years, capturing everything from newborns and families to seniors, weddings, and all the beautiful milestones in between.

When I’m not photographing amazing clients, you’ll usually find me in the gym, experimenting with healthier recipes, working on a DIY project, or cheering on my kids at their sporting events.

Funny story...

My daughter has a little garden growing on her apartment balcony. For about a week, she kept telling me these birds wouldn't leave her plants alone. Every time she'd see one, she'd run out there going, "Shooo! Get away from my garden!" 😂 She was getting so frustrated because they just kept coming back.

Then one day, she looked a little closer...

Two tiny little bird eggs were tucked away in the corner. 🥹

That poor mama bird wasn't trying to steal her garden... she was building a home for her babies. My daughter felt absolutely terrible after realizing she'd been shooing away a very determined mama.

What's funny is birds usually build their nests up high, but this one decided the corner of a third-story balcony was the perfect spot. She even used twigs and pieces from some of my daughter's dead plants to build her nest.

Don't worry... I didn't get close to them or touch them. I just couldn't resist snapping a quick photo from a safe distance. Nature has a funny way of reminding us that we're sharing this world with some pretty incredible little creatures. ❤️
