A few years ago, this beautiful moment backstage at the Mahaffey Theater was featured as National Geographic ’s Photo of the Day.
Titled “Ballerina Rainbow,” the image was captured shortly after Bill Edwards completed a full renovation of the theater and backstage areas — helping create the inspiring space our young performers enjoy today.
Photographer Evelyn Reinson shared:
“The second I walked into the dressing room… I knew this setting was magic.”
We love that this magical moment, right here in St. Petersburg, was shared with the world.
