Morning Bryce ๐Ÿ’™

It's football season ๐Ÿˆ

โ€‹We should have drafted our fantasy football teams this week. We should have been sitting right next to each other at Buffalo Wild Wings, scouring our notes, happy and excited about another yearโ€”and you should have been going for the three-peat.

โ€‹Out of the 28 years our league has existed, you were right there for 16 of them, winning the last two in a row. I remember when you drafted Cam Newton in the very last round before his rookie year, how excited you were and how everyone else thought you were crazy. But you showed them, and he almost took you all the way. I remember us fighting over who was going to draft our Cowboys and Lions, too. I remember so much about those drafts, but what I remember most about draft day was just us being together and sometimes Drake too๐Ÿ’– It's the only reason I continued running the league for so long ๐Ÿ’”

โ€‹Now, that trophy will forever sit in your room with your name, mine, and your brother's on it as champions. Fantasy football is done for me, and watching football in general is going to be tough with out you ๐Ÿ˜ช

โ€‹I hope you win your league up in Heaven. Stop by on Sundays and give Mom and me a sign if you can. Weโ€™ll always save some pot roast for you.

โ€‹Love you and miss you more than life itself buddy ~ Dad

As the constant battle between my brain and my heart rages on, one thought keeps popping into my head: That Bryce was an old soul, and he was on his final trip home.

โ€‹He was just built differently. He moved through life with a quiet wisdom, steady kindness, and a depth that stayed with anyone who took the time to truly know him. You could see it in his deep brown eyes. I genuinely believe he came into this world with only a handful of human lessons left to learn and lives to touch.

โ€‹He didn't waste time on the noise of the world. He lived with a level of empathy, intellect, and natural talent that takes most of us a lifetime to figure out. True to who he was, he mastered everything he needed to way ahead of schedule, finished his purpose here, and made his way back home.

โ€‹My brain fights with the reality of his absence every minute of every day, but my heart stays anchored in who he was and the love i have for him. Viewing his journey this way doesn't take away the heavy weight of missing him, but it gives my mind a way to make sense of why a soul so bright and complete was called back so soon. He mastered what it means to be human far faster than the rest of us, and I am so deeply proud to carry his story ๐Ÿ’™โœŒ๏ธ

I love you buddy and miss you more than life itself ๐Ÿ’™ ๐Ÿ’” ๐Ÿ˜ช

Itโ€™s hard to believe eight months have passed since we lost you, buddy. Some days are harder than others, and while the void is immense, our love for you only intensifies. Holding you close in our hearts today and always, until we see you again. ๐Ÿ’™ Love, Mom & Dad

Morning Bryce

In every cool breeze, I imagine you. In every bright red cardinal or beautiful, fluttering butterfly, I see you. Every creak in the house, every light knock I hear, every unexplained soundโ€”I imagine it is you, until one day, hopefully, it will be ~ Dad

Morning Bryceโ€‹

Mom and I were talking today about the invisible labor of griefโ€”the kind of weight people who haven't experienced it simply can't understand. Grief isn't just sadness; it is complete physical and emotional exhaustion. Spending all day performing "normal" to keep everyone else comfortable leaves you running on absolute empty. The moment the door closes and the mask comes off, everything collapses. Itโ€™s as deeply frustrating as it is exhausting. ๐Ÿ˜ช๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’” I miss you and love you more than life itself buddy ๐Ÿ’” ๐Ÿ˜ช

Morning Bryce

I stumbled across more pictures you took. I love how you saw the world. So vibrant, colorful and beautiful. You had a way of finding beauty in the simplest things, and somehow making us see them through your eyes.

The world seems so much more black and white without you in it. The colors are still there, but they just don't feel the same anymore.

I wish I could see the world the way you did again. I wish I could see what caught your eye, what made you stop and take a picture, what you thought was beautiful enough to remember.

Maybe that's why these pictures mean so much to me now. They're little pieces of the world as you saw it. Pieces of you that you left behind for us to hold onto.

Keep showing me the beauty, buddy. I promise I'll keep looking ~ Dad ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ’”
