The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is asking people who live in the Grand Lake Estates or Two Step Farms neighborhoods to lock their doors and exercise caution as they search for a suspect who fled on foot from a traffic stop Tuesday.

We all hear the constant complaints about how fast Montgomery is growing, but instead of just talking about it, here is one way we can actually come together to make a real difference! If you truly care about preserving Montgomery’s charm, history, and unique small town feel, supporting the Montgomery Historical Society is the absolute best way to step up.
Our local museum and historic buildings desperately need some love to stay standing and maintained, and the society works so hard to bring wonderful, family friendly events to our community. The volunteers running everything are fantastic people. My sweet boyfriend has even been helping clean up the building exteriors so Downtown looks absolutely beautiful for our big Christmas Extravaganza!
Here are a few simple ways we can all join forces and help:
Donate online: Any amount makes an impact! Visit MHS-Tx.org to contribute directly to maintaining our town history and historic spaces.

Bake for the Cookie Walk: They need cookie donations for the upcoming town walk. This is so fun! If you’ve never attended you have to come this year! It’s so fun and your kids will love the sweet treat variety. Bake a plate of cookies or sweet treat for this!

Eat local for a cause: Watch for their next restaurant fundraiser night (their last one at MOD raised $200!). If you know a restaurant that wants to be a part of this they’d love that! They just donate a portion of their sales from one night to them. It’ll bring a lot of locals out.

Follow on Facebook: Show some love and help them hit their 500 follower goal by liking their new page.

🌟Attend "Voices from the Past" (October 17): Bring the whole family out for a FREE cemetery tour featuring costumed actors bringing local history to life! The team specifically made this event FREE now so every family in town could enjoy it. In the past they charged.

Complaining won't save our charm, but action will. Let’s rally together and do what we can to keep our history alive!
