Inspired by similar stories I’ve read this week…
Lately I’ve been in a much quieter season of life. Still alive, still here… just haven’t had the energy for any “happy new year” posts or social media cheer.
It’s one of those in-between chapters no one really talks about - kids needing you differently, parents getting older, and your own health asking for a bit more attention. Life doesn’t feel as straightforward as it used to, and some days it can feel like a lot to hold all at once - not to mention the world just feels heavier right now.
There’s gratitude here… and also grief.
Grief for earlier seasons.
For roles that are shifting.
For parts of myself that are changing too.
I’m learning that my capacity is smaller - and my standards for how I spend my time are higher. 😉
Part of that has meant stepping back from posting and reacting online. Part of finding peace is giving it to God and trusting Him with what I can’t control. Sometimes the most loving thing you can do for yourself is just pause, breathe, and protect your nervous system. That’s where real presence starts - with yourself, and with others you’re caring for.
It’s probably no surprise this is how I approach photography sessions:
Seeing people as they are.
Holding space for real connection.
Honoring this chapter exactly as it is.
Still showing up.
Still loving deeply.
Just learning how not to disappear in the process.
If this season feels familiar to you too - hi. I see you. 🤍
I’m SO looking forward to the clients I get to serve in 2026 and all the meaningful moments we’ll capture together. 🥰📸
Colorado weddings, family sessions, newborns, and senior portraits - I love capturing the real, joyful, messy, beautiful moments that actually matter and last a lifetime.
