This was a session I shot in my@living room years ago when I was just starting to shoot studio style work and it’s still one of my favorite sessions ever!

It was a super simple setup! I ordered a silver sequin curtain panel from Amazon and clipped it to my backdrop stand.

Then I used one simple 60” shoot through umbrella.

I added depth and visual interest by shooting through prisms and also incorporating some shutter drag.

For years I thought I’d never be good enough or make enough to build my own studio..

Like it was just a pipe dream that people laughed about.

And now here I am…. Shooting in the studio I built from the ground up with the 6 figure photography business I thought would never be this successful.

If I can do it, anyone can do it. You just have to start and never give up.

Crazy to think all those years ago I started studio work in my living room!

It was around the Covid pandemic and I just got this wild idea to start shooting studio backdrop work instead of my typical outdoor natural light work.

I had clients just come to my house and I shot while the babies all napped down the hall. And before I knew it, my studio work blew up and after a couple years, I was able to lease a studio! And now years after that, I built my own studio from the ground up on our land!

God truly is sooooo good.
