February 6, 2026 - 2 Tz'ikin.
On the second day of our journey, we woke to the most beautiful views of lake Atitlan from our lakefront Spanish Colonial Villa, called The Yellow Orchid. Our private chef, whom we lovingly referred to as our breakfast angel, made the most delicious, whole foods breakfast for us.
We took Tuk Tuk's to Tzununa and visited a ceremonial Cacao farm, Las Manos, owned by our friend, the creative visionary, founder and journeyman of Holy Wow Cacao project, Mat Chandler (a.k.a. Mateo Solecito). We sat in ceremony together enjoying a cup of Mat's 3 origin blend of ceremonial cacao. Then we watched the women prepare and package the ceremonial cacao. You can find out more information and purchase Ceremonial Cacao, a health superfood known as the "Food of the Gods", here: https://holywowcacao.com/.
We then took a boat across Lake Atitlan to sit in sacred ceremony with Nana Maria Feliciana, an indigenous Mayan woman and spiritual guide, at her home named Nueva Sol. Nana Maria gave us all a necklace of our mayan nahual and led us through a beautiful ceremony by the sacred fire.
After departing Nana Maria's, we explored shops and visited with the Weavers of San Juan. The vibrant, handmade textiles, are woven the traditional way on a backstrap loom. I can't adequately describe the beauty and significance of these textiles and what they mean to the Mayan people. Their artistry astounds me.
