Through my camera lens, I seek to capture the unique qualities of a place. As I reflect on the image outlined in my viewfinder, several thoughts and questions arise. What defines this place?, Who or what created this place, or What feeling best describes this place? A place can have many hooks on which to hang our memories. A photo can capture these moments and freeze them in time allowing us to r

ecall our experiences of that place, perhaps reliving the moments we spent there. These thoughts and questions guide my lens. They form the inspiration I use to capture the essence of a place through photography as a medium. Each scene that I capture seeks to tell a story or spur the viewer to reflect on the perception of place that I have captured in digital form. Once I have captured the image, I will occasionally explore ways to enhance the details of my photography in an effort to trigger a memory that perhaps has been tucked away deep in our subconscious thoughts, or possibly even inspire the viewer to visit or even re-visit a place to create new memories.
