Been a busy, busy guy lately. Family moves, work commitments, health challenges and preparing to retire from the corporate world. T-minus 9 months and counting on that one!! I was offered a chance to attend a Buffalo Bisons batting practice to try my hand at some Sports photography. Had a really good time and challenged my skills and my knowledge of my camera system. Changing settings, lenses, focal lengths, etc etc. took over 700 images. mostly in 10-20 frame bursts so the final tally of images was around 20. These are what I considered the cream of the crop. Nothing ground breaking or earth shattering, but then again, it was practice for myself and the Bisons. If you are wondering about the Toronto BlueJays attire, Buffalo is the farm team for Toronto. Keep shooting!

i recently joined a photography group at my local Veterans Center. This morning, I hosted a photo walk with a few of them at Tifft Nature Preserve. If felt really good to get out with some fellow vets and talk a peaceful walk through nature.

It's been rough finding the motivation to get out and take some pictures. So I joined up with some fellow veterans at my local veterans group. We met up at a Christmas market for some street photography. Not my something I am comfortable with. But if you don't get outside of your comfort zone once in a while , you'll never grow. These are a couple of the images I captured. Still not comfortable with taking pictures of people, but I'll get there

Deckertown Falls, Montour Falls, NY
An out of the way waterfall with a bit of a tricky hike along the side of the gorge wall to get to this series of small waterfalls. The upper most falls are hidden behind the trees at the top of the image.

Eagle Cliff falls, Havana Glen.

Thanks to the proper use of a polarizing filter, I was able to get the reflection in the water, and still see through the water. Nothing like getting right in camera.

My Favorite Picture from this years Fall foliage outings. I captured this image after walking Fillmore Glen State Park. I didn't originally plan on going. But for whatever reason I was inspired to go. And I am very glad I did. Fillmore Glen is named after our 13th President Millard Fillmore who was born nearby. The park has a replica of the log cabin that he was raised in. I enjoy chasing waterfalls throughout the Finger Lakes region of central New York. This is a prime example of why. Glacier carved gorges filled with waterfalls and micro environments. I thoroughly enjoy the seclusion, peacefulness found in the areas. This is was a very serene spot that I was able to enjoy for about 15 minutes before I moved on. There was no one else to disturb my peace. I thank the Lord almighty for the place and time. I like this image so much that I have printed it out to frame and hang. I think I'll call it Fall Serenity.

For the technically inclined: I used my Canon R6mk2, RF 24-105 f/4 lens and a Maven filter Linear polarizer (LPL) to capture the image.
1.6 sec at F/11 ISO 100 @ 24mm -2ev to protect the highlights.

Lucifer Falls @ Robert Treman State Park. An increibly low amount of flow on my visit in October ’25. I’ll have to revisit in the spring as when the snow melt fills the creek.
