I have been taking photographs as a way of documenting my life for a very long time! Looking through a camera lens and finding the beauty all around me has always filled me with wonder! As my world started closing in on me with a diagnosis first of Fibromyalgia and then of Chronic Lyme Disease, my photography became even more meaningful to me and over the ensuing years I have spent hours pouring o

ver the photographs I have taken. I now have over 20 albums full of film photographs and just shy of 20,000 and counting digital photos on my computer. When I had to stop teaching special education after 23 years this fall to focus on my health, I needed something to fill my days and give me back that sense of purpose that I was struggling to recapture. Making the decision to do something with my photography has helped to fill this void! Thank you for taking time to check out my work!

They truly do exist.
Search for those people. Seek out those people. Be intentional about creating relationships with those people.
And most importantly - Be grateful for those people.
Their presence in your life? It’s no coincidence. They were hand selected for you, and you for them.
The light bringers; the life givers.
You’ll know when you found them.
Just don’t let go once you do. “

There comes a day when you realize that the fear never really goes away,
that if you really want something, you have to be willing to do it afraid.

And maybe this is the only way you ever get to discover your fullest potential. Maybe you just have to dive right in and face the thing that scares you the most.

Because in the end, it’s not the rejections and so-called failures that will haunt you.
It will be your own potential left unexplored.

So maybe you don’t need to wait until you overcome your fears to take the first step forward.

Maybe you just need to know there’s something more important than fear. Something greater.
Something worth fighting for.

And maybe overcoming your fears is the least important part of your story anyway.

Maybe what matters is that you’re scared but still determined. Shaky but still standing. Afraid but still willing to try.

“What is the point in being alive if you are not going to try for something? If you are not going to at least attempt to make your time here remarkable? Stop holding yourself back. Tell the person that makes your stomach ache with hope that every part of your heart is tender for them, even if you think you have no chance. Don’t just fantasize about your dream job—actively pursue it, and if that door is not open, knock it down. Buy the plane ticket, jump the fence, kiss the stranger. Make sure that you don’t allow your fear to hold you back. Instead, look your fear in the face and invite it to dinner, become its best friend. Live alongside it, let it make you feel alive. Always a different sort of feeling when you choose your Christmas tree in 70 degree weather!! That being said … 🎶 it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
