For 2 years I couldn’t talk about it
I was gagged
Literally by the court

Everyone knows divorce is expensive
But no one knows the true cost

Mentally
Creatively
Spiritually
And of course fiscally

It was probably one of the hardest things I have ever done

Choosing myself
My needs
My desire
My vitality
My energy
Future me

Over comfort
Over certainty of outcome
Surrendering to the “I don’t know what’s going to happen but it’s got to be better than this”

I’m so proud of myself
And yet the pain is still there
The grief
The not knowing what could have been
If things were handled differently

Letting go of the toxic hope
You could have changed it
Somehow

The anger
The injustice of it all
Stewing right beneath the surface

Yet the Jewish new year approaches and
I tenderly await the cleansing waters of forgiveness
Forgiveness of myself
Forgiveness for everything

Moving forward
To a new life
That is the most uncertain of all

Which one?? Black and white or color??

Alsooo please read ⬇️⬇️

It has been such an honor mentoring my talented friend + fellow photographer Rita over the past few months in my posing flow, direction, expression coaching and overall photography style. ❤️

And this past weekend I didn’t expect how much it would mean to me when she photographed me. I’ve been photographed by other photographers a number of times. But this was sooo different. Rita Newmeyer photographed me in the same way I photograph my clients, in my same poses and style. It almost felt like getting to be in my own photographs for the first time. And that felt fu***ng crazy.

For 10 years I watched as so many women ooh and ahh looking at the pictures I took of them and go HOLY S**T THAT’S ME?! ➡️ this timeee I got to do it too!

Because after 10 years of being the photographer and telling other women how fu***ng beautiful they are…
Im just a girl who wants pictures that make me feel that way too. And part of what made it so fun was getting to see how far I’ve come embodying my own feminine energy. The Smoky eyes. Dark vampy lips. The leather boots. All the s**t I loved even in high school but never thought I was allowed to try. And holy s**t, I had fun being her for a dayy. I just got to be me. And for once, I didn’t want to reject any of her.
