Let's talk inspo pics!!
First, they can be a really helpful tool, for clients to explain what they want with a visual aid. What needs to be understood though, is that a lot of hair images pulled from the web, are filtered and edited. Often times blonde appears more platinum, brunettes appear more glossy or shiney, and reds are more vibrant. They are also typically taken of a model who was chosen for this exact color. So as stylists, it's our job to explain this and discuss expectations with our clients.
Now onto this beautiful client...
She sent me the first two images of her hair( I had never seen or worked with her hair previous to our consultation for this service). Then she sent me her inspo pics, in the second two images. Once I had her in my chair, we talked about what she liked in the images she showed me, and what she didn't like. She expressed wanting more of the lightness upfront around her face, and that she DID NOT want lightner used on her hair. The last 3 photos are her raw and unedited results. She was thrilled, and she chose excellent inspo pics for what she wanted done!!
