I have a confession.
A few of you have asked for photos from my most recent Iceland trip, or asked when I would be releasing them
I'll be completely honest, I haven't been in the right headspace for awhile for creativity - a lot of anger and frustrations. I find that my mood GREATLY influences how my photos turn out - I am literally putting a part of myself into every photo. I knew that, with a crappy mood and outlook, I couldn't do the photos justice, so I haven't been editing them. Truth be told, I haven't even imported them into my computer until tonight.
But, that outlook is changing!
I'm not focusing on the gloom and doom news as much.
I'm not worrying about rushing videos to the YouTube just to get a new video up... although I'm sure the algorithm will punish me for that. 😒
I'm not taking frustrations from work home anymore.
I'm finding balance. ..And for the first time in months, I've actually gone home excited to jump on the computer and start editing!
And, with these storms rolling in tonight, and a light through the dark, I figured this was the prefect time to do this photo from Vestahorn, which is located on the East Coast of Iceland.
The rain was torrential all day, but let up juuuuust long enough for me to snap this photo. No joke, I was absolutely SOAKED from walking the beach to take this shot. But it was absolutely worth it!
This is actually a very popular tourist attraction, because this mountain is often home to very dramatic skies and beautiful reflections. There's also a movie set that was built for a TV show, but never used, nestled at the base of the mountain on the left side of this photo. While it was never used in a show, people still flock to it for those cinematic viking-setting photos. The rainstorm was actually a blessing, because there weren't many people out on the beach, which allowed me to get this unobstructed shot.
Anyway, I REALLY wanted to share this one, and I'm REALLY happy how it turned out!!
I hope you like it, too!
You don't have to, but if you'd like to buy a print, it'll be up in my Merch Store this weekend, on paper, metal, and canvas in several sizes, with coffee cups and mousepads to follow. I'll do a separate post when it drops, but if you'd like me to tag you so you know, let me know, either comments below or send me a DM. 😊❤️
