Some memories are worth losing a little sleep for. 🌅

This morning came with a VERY early wake-up call! 😂 We arrived at Pompano Joe’s Beach in Miramar Beach by 5:30 AM, ready and waiting for that beautiful sunrise at 6:23 AM.

I had a vision in my head for this sisters’ session, and my girls and bonus daughter trusted me enough to bring that vision to life. Watching it all come together was such a special feeling.

Getting all my girls together on a day off isn’t always easy, so I’m especially grateful they were willing to sacrifice some precious sleep and make this morning happen with me. And let me just say… they looked AMAZING! 😍

As a mom, these are the moments I want to hold onto—the laughter, the connection, the beautiful memories, and simply having my girls together.

The sunrise was gorgeous, but having my girls in front of my camera was the real highlight of my morning.

So thankful for these girls, for this morning, and for the memories we made before most of the world was even awake.

Last Day to nominate a family!!

Last Day to nominate a family!!

Nominations are now open and due by Friday, September 4th.

Twice a year — in April and September — I will be gifting a portrait session to a local family raising a child with special needs. 🤍

As both a teacher and a photographer, I understand how beautifully unique every child is — and how much love, strength, and dedication fill these homes. This small offering is simply my way of honoring that.

Each gifted session will include:
• A mini portrait session (up to one hour to allow time for sensory breaks and gentle pacing)
• 5 carefully edited digital images
• A relaxed environment with patience, flexibility, and understanding

These sessions will be handled with care, calm guidance, and space for both posed and candid moments — capturing your child and your family just as you are.

This is not about charity. It’s about honor. It’s about preserving memories. It’s about cultivating inclusion and creating space where every story matters.

🍄 A Little Backyard Magic I Almost Forgot About… ✨

Somehow, these little beauties from my backyard in early August never made it to the “post” pile. So, better late than never! 🍄🤎

These are false parasol mushrooms, named for their beautiful umbrella-like shape. I spotted them growing right in my own backyard and, of course, I couldn’t resist grabbing my phone and getting a few macro shots.

There’s just something about slowing down and noticing the tiny pieces of magic hiding right outside our own doors.

And honestly… I kept looking around for a little gnome hiding nearby. 😂🍄
Because surely mushrooms this cute must have a tiny magical resident somewhere close!

Sometimes the best photo opportunities aren’t planned, posed, or found on an adventure. Sometimes they’re just waiting in your backyard. 🤍

🇺🇸 250 Flags. 250 Stories. One Nation. 🇺🇸

One of my favorite parts of this project isn’t just photographing the flags—it’s discovering how far the stories can travel. ❤️

This weekend, a friend was in Tallahassee for the FSU game and happened to look out her hotel window. She saw this beautiful American flag flying proudly against that perfect blue Florida sky… and thought of my 250 Flags, 250 Stories project. 🇺🇸

So she sent it to me. ❤️

And honestly, that means more than she probably realizes.

I love that my friends, family, and even people in my community are keeping their eyes open for flags and sending them my way. It has become something we’re doing together—a little reminder that this project is about so much more than photographs.

It’s about people. Places. Memories. Service. Sacrifice. Pride. Hope. And the stories woven into the fabric of this country.

So keep sending them. 📸🇺🇸
If you see a flag that catches your eye, I want to see it, too!

Thank you for helping me tell 250 stories, one flag at a time. ❤️🤍💙

🇺🇸 FACES OF FREEDOM | DEPUTY HAUN & K-9 JEDI 🐾

Today, in our Faces of Freedom series, we introduce you to someone whose service is built on two things he has always wanted to do: work with dogs and help people.

Meet Deputy Haun, a K-9 handler and partner to K-9 Jedi, with five years of service.

And while Deputy Haun wears the badge, there is another brave member of this team who deserves to be recognized too.

K-9 Jedi. 🐾

A law enforcement K-9’s job can take them into situations most of us would instinctively run from. Jedi may be called upon to assist with search and rescue, locating missing or endangered people, narcotics detection, tracking, searches, and helping protect the community.

That takes more than training.

It takes strength. Courage. Focus. Trust. And bravery.

Jedi doesn’t know what the next call will bring. He simply trusts his handler, relies on his training, and steps forward when he is needed.

Whether searching for someone who desperately needs to be found, detecting something that could pose a danger, or standing alongside Deputy Haun to help keep others safe, Jedi’s work can make an incredible difference.

And behind that courage is an extraordinary bond between a K-9 and his handler—a partnership built through countless hours of training, trust, and dedication.

When asked what inspired him to choose this path, Deputy Haun’s answer was simple:

“I have always wanted to work with dogs and help people in need. This job lets me do both.”

His service has also changed the way he sees the world. Deputy Haun says it has broadened his perspective on the hardships people go through in life.

Serving others, he says, means being someone who can help when people need it—and connecting them with resources when he can’t personally solve the problem.

Being the person others call during their hardest moments isn’t something he spends much time thinking about while it’s happening.

He simply does what needs to be done.

When he can help, it feels amazing.

When he can’t, he accepts that he can’t help everyone, learns to move forward, and reminds himself that the next person who needs him needs him at his best.

On the hardest days, Deputy Haun finds his grounding in his faith in God, his family, his close friends, and K-9 Jedi. 🐾

And then there is a handwritten note.

During a time when the community faced a possible threat, Deputy Haun was helping provide additional security when a young girl approached him and handed him a one-page handwritten note expressing how much she appreciated and supported law enforcement.

He still keeps that note in the visor of his patrol car.

A small piece of paper.

A powerful reminder.

A reminder of why he chose this profession.

When asked what he is most proud of in his journey, Deputy Haun didn’t hesitate:

Making the K-9 unit.

And what keeps him showing up?

“I feel called to do it and I love what I do.”

When asked what the American flag means to him, Deputy Haun shared:

“The American flag is a unifying symbol for thousands of communities like ours, with people that are united in their pursuit to live happy, safe, and free.”

And if he could define freedom in one word?

America. 🇺🇸

But perhaps the most personal answer came when we asked:

Who is your hero?

His answer:

“My dad. I wouldn’t be who I am if it wasn’t for him.”

Behind every badge is a story.

Behind every uniform is a person.

And beside some of those brave men and women is a four-legged partner who willingly steps into the unknown alongside them.

Jedi may have four paws, but he carries an incredible amount of courage. 🐾

His strength isn’t just in what he is trained to do. It’s in his willingness to trust, to search, to protect, and to step forward when others need him.

Today, we honor Deputy Haun and K-9 Jedi—a team whose service reminds us that courage can wear a badge, walk on four paws, and come in many different forms.

Thank you, Deputy Haun, for answering the call.

And thank you, Jedi, for your strength, your bravery, your loyalty, and your service to the community. 🇺🇸🐾

This is Faces of Freedom.
This is their story.

✨ Thursdays are for editing. ✨

The camera may be quiet today, but the memories are still coming to life. 🤍

Some days, like today, are spent behind my computer, going through galleries one image at a time… choosing, adjusting, and adding those little finishing touches that help tell each family’s story.

Sometimes I catch myself smiling at a photo, remembering the laughter, the little moments in between the posed ones, and the genuine connections that happened during a session. Those are the moments I love the most.

Photography is so much more than taking a picture. It’s preserving a feeling… a season of life… the people we love exactly as they were in that moment.

So while you may not see much happening behind the scenes today, just know there is a whole lot of love going into those galleries. 💕✨

Thank you for trusting me to capture your memories. It truly means more than you know. 🤍

Some family memories just feel extra special. 🤍

This beautiful family traveled all the way from Tennessee to Panama City Beach for a vacation, and while they were here, they decided it was time to update their family photos. I’m so thankful they chose me to help capture this chapter of their lives.

From the very beginning, there were laughs, genuine smiles, playful moments, and so much joy shared between them. It was one of those sessions where you could truly feel the love this family has for one another. 🥰

And we had an extra reason to celebrate! One of their couples recently got engaged, so of course we had to pause and capture a few special photos to celebrate this beautiful new chapter. 💍❤️

I’m always reminded that photography isn’t just about taking pretty pictures. It’s about preserving the people, the relationships, the laughter, and the moments we wish we could hold onto forever.

Thank you for trusting me with these memories and allowing me to be a small part of your vacation and your family’s story. It was an absolute joy spending time with you all! 📸🌊☀️
