We’re on the hunt for a Metro Detroit artist to collab with us on something really special 🎨

We were fortunate enough to partner with a high end local realtor who puts together gift bags for every single closing. We’ve already printed custom magnetic fridge frames to include, and now we need the art. 🙌

We’re looking for a local artist to create a custom illustration of our studio that will be printed on a postcard welcoming new homeowners to the neighborhood, and your name and Instagram will be right on it. That postcard will also point new neighbors to our photographer directory, connecting them with local photographers and putting more work in our creative community’s hands.

Your art. New homes. Supporting local creatives. All across Metro Detroit. 🏡

This is a full circle community project. This is a paid collab with a $100 budget plus real exposure to exactly the kind of people who love supporting local art and business. ♥️

Critique is scary because it means you made something that mattered enough to share.

Which, honestly? Most people never even get there. So you’re already winning. Kind of.

But here’s the thing nobody wants to say out loud — avoiding feedback isn’t protecting you.

It’s just keeping you and your work in a little bubble where nothing can hurt you and nothing can grow either. Cool bubble though.

The bravest thing you can do is hand your work to someone and say be honest. Not because it won’t sting. It absolutely will.

But because growth only happens when someone who isn’t your mom tells you what they actually think.

Good feedback, the kind that’s specific, thoughtful, and actually wants you to win — is genuinely rare.

Most people are either too nice to be useful or too mean to be trusted. Finding the middle is the whole game.

That’s exactly why with Savvy Shoots I created The Kind Critique. A space where you bring your real work, the thing you’ve been sitting on for six months because “it’s not ready yet” and get feedback that’s honest and human.

No ego. No cruelty. Just people who actually want to see you get better.

Because you deserve feedback that makes you braver.

Not feedback that makes you want to delete everything and start a farm.

The DIA is so much more than the back staircase. 👏
While everyone crowds the same photo spot, there are flowering trees, hidden benches, beautiful architecture, and so many overlooked corners that photograph beautifully.
This is one of my favorite Detroit locations because you can create a gallery that feels like multiple locations without ever leaving the property.
