"🎉 TODAY, INSIDE LAKE IS 5! 🎉
Five years ago, I took a chance and launched Inside Lake.
I didn't have a big staff, a big budget or really any idea what the next five years would look like. I just knew Lake County needed strong, independent local news coverage.
Five years later, I'm incredibly proud of what Inside Lake has become.
We've broken major stories, covered tragedies and triumphs, celebrated our community and told countless stories about the people who call Lake County home.
And somehow, this little news outlet has grown into something thousands of people turn to every day for their local news. 💗
But we're not perfect.
Sometimes we fall short. Sometimes we miss a story or simply can't cover everything that deserves coverage. Inside Lake may look like a whole news operation from the outside, but behind the scenes, it's mostly me chasing stories, answering messages, making public records requests, taking photos, writing, editing, publishing, selling advertising and doing about 47 other things. 😂
But mostly me doesn't mean only me.
Over the years, I've been lucky to have people who believe in Inside Lake and have helped make it better. Jolie, Bonnie and Eddie have each contributed their time, talents and support to Inside Lake, and I'm incredibly grateful to have them in my corner. 💗
I wish we could be everywhere. We can't. But I can promise you that we care deeply about this community and about getting the story right.
And none of this would exist without all of you.
Every click, share, comment, tip, message and recommendation has helped build Inside Lake. So has every local business that has trusted us with its advertising dollars. Your support allows us to keep doing this work and, more importantly, gives Inside Lake the opportunity to keep growing.
