1. Question was...

Is there anything else you’d want people to know about your photography or this photo?

My guiding principles: Practice makes perfect. If it were easy, everyone would be doing it. Wisdom comes from making many mistakes. My secret sauce for landscape photography is driving slow and discovering new roads and not chasing locations that others have already photographed. Have fun discovering! Take the road less traveled and find what draws you to the land and photograph that connection.

France has shot this road in several seasons, but this is her favorite.

Gentle on my mind. Can you feel this shot? Can you hear the redwings? A flock of birds cruising in the fog in the middle section of this is the icing on the cake. Those of you on a phone can't see the details but trust me the hills are swaying green and blue in this part of the country. Photo taken in Iowa County, Wisconsin.

As the sun descended below the horizon a pack of coyotes began yipping and howling. Sounded like a big healthily pack in the small woods to the left of me. It's like they are all celebrating the coming night ...creepy and incredibly wonderful at the same time. Photo's taken in Iowa County, Wisconsin.

Speeding along Highway 151 on the route from Wisconsin into Dubuque, Iowa and beyond. Many of us have passed by this old barn, once a quasi marker for how far too..? A few years back I noticed large holes forming in the roof, I knew it wouldn't be long before it was gone — so I took the time to stop and capture it while it still looked solid.

The Haney Ridge Church located in the "Ocooch Mountains" in southwestern Wisconsin. The name Ocooch was first recorded in the early 1800s and is a transliteration of Native American Siouan languages, with phonetics similar to the Ho-Chunk word. As for the Haney Church and Cemetery it is deep in the hills and I am certain I have many ancestors laid to rest in this peaceful place.

From a hot day to a cool evening down in the lowlands, near a small crick (some folks call it a creek) here in Dane County, Wisconsin. Just taking a moment to slow down, soak in the scenery, and listen to the frogs do their thing. Hard to ask for much more than that.
