It was our last full day on Cape Cod. I wasn't going to let the fog keep me from getting my camera out.

Actually, I was kind of excited. Excited for the natural change of scenery the fog created.

I came to this area of the beach expecting to create one image, but this... When I saw the sailboat perfectly lined up with the pier moorings. I thought "Am I being punked by this perfect setup?"

It's a representation of how life works. Sometimes you lose your way, everything feels foggy, you feel like you have no wind left in your sails, and it seems as though there is no way to get from one point to another.

Even in the fog, there is still direction; you just have to trust yourself enough to see it.

It’s been a little quiet around here… but I haven’t stopped creating.

I’ve been out gathering new work for the Etsy shop, and this Cape Cod sunset from Paine’s Creek felt like the perfect image to return with.

Fun fact: those oyster flats were nearly a mile out at low tide, and four of us hiked out to photograph them… only to realize the tide was suddenly coming in FAST. 😅

Worth it.

I love this image because it isn’t your typical beach sunset — the textures, the patterns, the hidden landscape revealed by low tide… it felt like finding something rare.

More new work is coming, and I’m excited to start sharing again.

This was one of those moments that it felt like stepping inside a painting.

Welcome to Creation Falls, located in the Red River Gorge, which is in the Daniel Boone National Forest in Eastern Kentucky.

Kentucky, you have some gorgeous landscapes!

Creation Falls is about mid-way on a 4-mile loop, which did not disappoint with all that nature had to offer on a beautiful fall morning.

We had to hop across some rocks in the shallow water of the creek to get to this spot, but so worth it.

Well, hello there, it's been a minute, my friends.

Life lately has not been so vanilla. It's been a mix of home projects, business projects, travel, and everything in between.

I am here, still creating, still behind the camera.

About the vanilla...it's a new hobby of mine. Creating my own homemade vanilla extract. If this photo were only like an old school scratch-n-sniff sticker. I had just received a new order of fresh vanilla beans, and I thought they needed to have their own photo session. So, here we are.

Recently, I had the absolute pleasure of teaming up with the fabulous Nell Tice from enTICEing Media on a corporate video project.

Remember those days in school where you would pray to get the good partner, well, I pretty much hit the jackpot!

We spent the day filming a series of videos for internal training, and somewhere along the way, we may have become honorary sprinkler system experts. (Don’t test us though… our certification is purely imaginary.)

A Sunset Finale

We have had a lot of rain and cloudy weather here of late, so when the skies were clear, I decided to head out to one of my favorite spots for sunsets. However, that location didn't really turn out the way I had envisioned it would.

As the sun had fully set, I started to see the sky lighting up over the hill. I knew I had 2 choices: stay where I was or pack up and head to a higher location where I knew I would see the beauty that was unfolding over the hill. There wasn't a ton of time to make a decision. Of course, I heard my mentor's voice giving his best advice, "You don't know unless you go".

I packed up quickly and headed to the higher spot. When I arrived, the sky was on fire more than I had imagined. It was absolutely stunning!

This was a reminder that beauty often reveals itself in the quiet, patient moments.

This fleeting moment that I was able to capture is heading to my Etsy shop soon!

I don't know how we get back to Wednesday so fast, but here we are. I have been searching the archives for this one! Let's just say I had a "husband looking for something in the fridge moment." 🤣

The trek down into this waterfall, not for the faint of heart, but this view! 😍

Sullivan Falls was a fun find, that's for sure!

Personally, I don't think you can go wrong with the color or the black and white on this one.
