Sometimes all you need is a bucket of apples and some fall leaves to have a good session. 🍎

I think we tend to overcomplicate family photos when, really, kids just want something to do! Give them some apples to splash around with and a few leaves to throw, and suddenly, you’ve got a whole gallery of the sweetest little moments. Sometimes, your own backyard and a simple activity are more than enough🙏

In 2027, I’m really going to be leaning into these kinds of sessions more. They’re the ones that call to me the most, and I feel like my style really gets to shine when families are just doing their thing instead of worrying about the camera.

With welcoming my own baby boy so soon, I’m excited to see what this next chapter looks like, both as a second-time mom and as a photographer. I have so many ideas floating around in my head, and I’m really looking forward to seeing where this little business of mine goes. 🤍

Fall maternity sessions are just something else😍

This gorgeous mom and dad-to-be absolutely killed their session, and can we talk about how beautiful this mama is?!

Between the golden hour light, the sweetest moments between these two, and the candid Enzo eating his grass, i couldn’t have asked for a better evening.

I’ve always loved maternity sessions, but being pregnant myself has given me a whole new appreciation for documenting this season of life. It’s such a short chapter, even when pregnancy feels like it’s lasting FOREVER hahaha.

If you’re expecting in 2027, i’d love to get you on my calendar! I’m currently booking maternity sessions for march and beyond. 🤍

As I’m busting my a$$ editing my way through the busiest season of the year, I figured we could use a little newborn love on the feed. 🤎

My maternity leave is coming up SO soon, which means my calendar is getting pretty limited before I trade my camera for newborn snuggles of my own. 🥹

I still have a few November dates available, and if you’re dreaming of some cozy, in-home magic this December, shoot me a DM and let’s chat!

I’m also accepting bookings for March 2027 and beyond, so if you’re hoping to get on my calendar for next year, now is the time!

In the meantime, wish me luck as I edit approximately a million photos, finish out my busiest season, and waddle my way into the new year. HAHAHA.

Adventure sessions are something I will ALWAYS suggest to my clients if they’re looking for something a little different. 🌿

One of my personal favorite locations is tucked away in Pennsylvania, and when I tell you the views are immaculate, I mean it.

But as a mom myself, I completely understand the hesitation of driving an hour (or more) for family photos.

What if the kids are exhausted by the time we get there? What if someone spills something on their outfit? What if we make the entire drive and everyone is miserable? What about BEDTIME?!

Lauren, how the hell is this supposed to work?! 😂

And those are all completely valid concerns.

Here’s the thing: traveling for photos isn’t for every family, and it isn’t for every stage of life.

If your toddler absolutely despises the car, maybe we save this idea for another year. If you’re already overwhelmed trying to get everyone dressed and out the door for a session 15 minutes away, adding a road trip might not sound like a good time.

BUT, if your family loves a good road trip, your kids are happiest exploring somewhere new, and you’re willing to make a little adventure out of an ordinary day? This could be right up your alley.

And personally, I think there’s something really special about making an entire experience out of family photos. Packing snacks, exploring somewhere you’ve never been, letting the kids run around, and having photographs to remember the day.

In 2027, I’d LOVE to start booking more adventure sessions throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and beyond. Think mountain views, open fields, rocky overlooks, and places that make you stop for a second and take it all in.

So, who’s up for a little road trip with me? 🤎

I’ve been doing this long enough now that I can look back at some of my early business decisions and think, girl… why did we do that? 😂

But that’s also kind of the point.

I didn’t start my photography business knowing how to run a photography business. I knew I loved taking photos. Everything else came from trying things, changing my mind, spending money in places I probably didn’t need to, figuring out what actually worked for me, and slowly building something that felt sustainable.

And I still don’t think there’s one “right” way to do any of this.

So I’ve been sharing more of the behind-the-scenes business side lately—not because I think I have every answer, but because sometimes it’s helpful to hear from someone who has already tried, failed, changed it, tried again, and lived to tell the tale. 😂

Photographers: twice a month, I’m sending business + photography advice directly to my email list. Think of it as the stuff I’d probably send you in a ridiculously long voice memo if we were photographer friends.

Let’s talk about what my newborn photography actually entails. 🤎

Finding a newborn photographer can be super overwhelming because there are so many different styles, approaches, and offerings. And honestly? There isn’t one that’s better than the others. It’s about figuring out what you want to remember from this season.

My newborn sessions take place in your home or in a cozy lifestyle studio, and they’re inspired by what those first few weeks actually look like.

Feeding your baby on the couch.
Breastfeeding or making a bottle.
Cuddling them in the nursery you spent months putting together.
Standing in the kitchen with your morning coffee and a baby tucked against your chest.
Big siblings climbing into bed with you.
Diaper changes, tiny stretches, sleepy snuggles and all the little pieces of your new routine.

That’s what I want to photograph.

I’m not coming in with a long list of poses I need your baby to cooperate for. I’m looking at how you naturally hold them, where your family gathers, what your mornings look like and all of those tiny details that are going to change before you even realize they’re changing.

If you’re looking for a studio photographer who specializes in wrapped, posed newborn portraits, then I’m not your girl — and that is completely okay.

That style of newborn photography requires its own skill, patience, training and creative eye, and there are some incredibly talented photographers who specialize in exactly that.

But if you want to remember what it felt like to bring your baby home?

That’s where I come in.

And if you’re thinking, okay, but I want the REALLY fresh stuff…

I also offer Fresh 48 sessions. 🤎

Those happen within those first couple of days after birth and are even more documentary — hospital bracelets, bassinet snuggles, wrinkly newborn skin, feeding, meeting siblings, exhausted happy parents and that completely surreal feeling of holy s**t, we have a baby.

Different experience. Same goal:

Photographing this season in a way that actually feels like your life.

The photos you stop scrolling for usually started long before anyone stepped in front of my camera.

And I don’t mean that everything is perfectly planned down to the second 😂 It’s usually a lot more casual than that.

We talk about where we’re going. We figure out what everyone is wearing. We probably swap a few outfit screenshots back and forth. I’m thinking about the light, the colors, and whether your kids will actually have room to move around and be themselves.

Basically, we get all of that stuff out of the way before session day so you don’t have to think about it once you’re there.

Then your toddler can wander. Someone can need a snack. Your kids can completely ignore whatever I originally had in mind 😂 and we just roll with it.

Because as much as I love a beautiful location and outfits that work together, those things are really just setting us up for the part I actually care about — you being with your family.

That’s usually when the photos you end up loving the most happen anyway.
