Ron Barker’s photos bring home the bacon. I’ve had two photo teachers, one is Jim Cammack, a gypsy photojournalist. The other is Ron Barker, a guy genuinely blessed with a creative brain. Mr. Cammack’s sorta like a sniper with a camera. Mr. Barker's more like the cavalry, coming over the hill. Interview with Ben Carr from 1979. Ben Carr was born January 20, 1884 at Gray Rock -Winfield on the old Carr Place. Louis Black owns this place now. Ben stayed there until he was 21 years old and he left and went to Sulphur Springs 'til he married in 1918 and then he moved back to Mt. Pleasant. Ben has lived on this same place for 30-40 years. There wasn't nothing up in there but a wagon road. When he first came to Mt. Pleasant.

Eagles earn passage to best two out of three series to advance to NJCAA World Series. Veterans of the NTCC team that in 1996 won the NJCAA World Series Championship under Coach Ty Harrington returned for the unveiling of the 30th anniversary commemorative monument on the same afternoon the 2026 team split a double header to bring the North Zone championship tournament home to Bob Baker Stadium at Northeast Texas Community College.
