Happy 7th birthday to our Lennon Alan.
She’s fiery, she’s kind, and she’s absolutely hilarious. Her best quality is making sure we stay laughing and enjoying life. She’s kept us on our toes since before she was born. She’s beautiful, she’s intelligent, she loves rainbows and unicorns and playing in the dirt. Shes my little artist, musician, and dance extraordinaire. When she has a vision, there’s no deterring from it (she definitely gets that from me.) She loves an adventure and isn’t afraid of trying new things (she gets that from her dad).
If I didn’t know for sure she was mine, I’d think she was my sisters. Maybe that’s why she’s so special, because she reminds me of what it was like growing up with my best friend. Except now I get to raise her myself…
…and raising her hasn’t been easy. It’s been sleepless nights, lots of tears, lots of anxiety, being her educators biggest pia, and constant wondering if she will be okay. I worry a lot less now, because she’s shown us that she can do it all. She doesn’t take no for an answer and she will try anything atleast once (even if it terrifies me). If she grows up to be anything like her auntie, I will be incredibly proud.
I am so proud of her, I need to tell her that more. And I’m proud of us for getting through it all.
I can’t believe another year has flown by. I still haven’t gotten used to her being 6, and now I have to say I have a 7 year old.
