A little reminder that our loved ones stick around

Back story: Becky and Jim are my parents best friends. Julie and Lisa grew up across the street from them and their mom is also bestfriends with Becky. I grew up wearing their handmedowns and then once we got older they became my family/wedding photographers. They are absolutely one of the reasons I fell in love with photography and had the courage to start my business. Sadly, we lost Jim in 2014. Although everyone in that group is still very close, there will always feel like a piece is missing.

Anyways. The day of their session, two different times, I had a little chat with Jim. I asked him if he's still watching over me and he thinks I'm making the right life choices, to show me a butterfly while I was with Julie and Lisa. The girls and I were walking out to the field and *as soon* as we reached it a butterfly slowly flew right in front of all of us.

They're always with us 🫶🦋

I read a quote recently that said, "Future you is begging you to slow down and enjoy this season of life."

Every season feels ordinary while you're living it. Then one day, it's a memory.

Someday, you'll look back and realize these were the moments that mattered most. The tiny toes, the sleepy cuddles, the way they fit perfectly in your arms.

That's why I do what I do. So years from now, when the crib is empty and those tiny feet are running through the house, you'll still have these moments to hold onto.

I also really love my job.

I've gotten to photograph all of jessa's major milestones the last few years. From senior, family, maternity, newborn to engagement and I've loved witnessing and documenting every single one .

Side note: I did most of this session with their itty bitty baby in my arms.
