Before I book any maternity session, I ask one question that has nothing to do with due dates or outfits.

I ask how she is feeling. Not physically, though we cover that too, but how she is feeling about this whole season. Some women tell me they feel radiant and cannot wait to be photographed. Others tell me they feel exhausted and unsure they will like a single image of themselves right now.

Both answers change how I shoot the session. The first client gets big, open, confident posing. The second gets softer light, some closer framing, and more direction so she never has to guess what to do. Neither approach is better. They are just different doors into the same portrait.

Bo***ir looks are never one size fits all, and I love that about this work.

Some clients want lace and heels and a full glam moment. Others want something soft and barely there, maybe just an oversized sweater or their favorite denim. And some show up wanting to try things they have never worn or posed in before, just to see how it feels.

Curvy moms message me more than anyone else asking if maternity photos will really work for their body, and every time my answer is the same. You are going to look absolutely stunning.

I give every client the same intentional light, the same care, the same posing built around the person actually standing in front of me. A fuller figure carrying a baby is not something to work around, it is gorgeous exactly as it is. That belly, those curves, all of it deserves to be photographed with real intention.

If self doubt is the only thing standing between you and booking, let it go. You are so much more beautiful than you may feel in this moment, and I would love to prove it to you.

There's a version of your baby that only exists for a few short weeks, the newborn scrunch, the tiny yawns, the way they curl right back into that just-born position. Blink and it's gone.

That's why we recommend booking your newborn session within the first three weeks after birth, it's the sweet spot for capturing all those fleeting little details before they change. But here's the catch: newborn spots fill up fast, so don't wait until baby arrives to reach out. Give us a call during your second or third trimester to reserve your date and make sure we can get you on the schedule in time.
