“Grim” and his family.

Grim is an English Shepherd, bred by Samantha Coiner.

The English Shepherd is a loyal herding breed that bonds closely with their handler. They have historically been used as versatile “all purpose” farm dogs that differ from Border Collies with their loose eyed herding style.

This breed was recognized by the UKC in 1927, but has yet to be recognized by AKC.

I’ve met quite a few of these guys, and they all share a reserved but intelligent demeanor. Grim, especially, shares a tight bond with his mom that is plain to see ❤️

Gorgeous Ilka “Daphne” vom Feuergarten.

In Greek mythology, Daphne was a beautiful naiad, and the daughter of a river god. According to the legend, the god Apollo fell deeply in love with her and pursued her relentlessly.

Desperate to escape his advances, Daphne prayed to her father, who saved her by transforming her into a laurel tree.

Heartbroken, Apollo made the laurel sacred, and its leaves became a symbol of honor.

Daphne.. as beautiful as her namesake 🌿

Chunk is 13 years old, but still maintains her upbeat and spunky attitude! It was an honor to spend time with her and preserve these memories. Senior pet sessions are always close to my heart.. you can feel the lifetime of history, trust, and love shared between older dogs and their people. 🤍
