Photography is the only thing that I’ve pursued in my life that has felt entirely optional. Before this, my work was something I did purely out of necessity. I actually don’t even consider this “work” for the most part. Because it doesn’t feel like work. I just got to meet this precious family and document sweet moments between them. A far cry from the corporate world. I’m lucky that I can do something creative now. And I’m glad I pushed myself to go for it. It’s corny but it’s taught me that if you simply just start and don’t give up, you will progress and you will slowly get to where you want to be. No matter what, time is going by and you can’t slow it down. So if there’s something that you’ve been stewing over, whether to try it or not, I say always try. And hopefully in a year from now, you can look back and be proud of what you’ve accomplished. And shoot, worst case scenario it doesn’t work out, who cares!
