A daily dose of Gemma. One last pool day for Gemma for the summer of 2026. This weekend I took a lot of photographs of Gemma as we spent what likely will be our last day at the pool this year. Here is a fun shot of her catching her bouncy ball after Mom lofted it across the pool to her! I loved how I captured her with her two front paws launching upward and her head back and mouth open to make the catch! This is one of Gemma's favorite pool games and once it starts it never stops!

September 17, 2026. A morning vista. I shot this image early one morning from the down hill slope of Harmony Road just above the village of Ellerton. The sun had just peeked above the ridgeline and the light was very golden as it illuminated the farm fields and distant mountains. The field in the foreground sits above Ellerton on the south side of Wolfsville Road while the field in the middle sit above Ellerton on the north side of Wolfsville Road. I loved how the cloud of mist was rising in ten distance from above the path of Wolfsville Road and Middle Creek. The corn fields in the distance have a nice puzzle like look as the corn swirls over the landscape and mixes with teh fields of soy bean. The tractor tire tracks in the foreground lead through the bright sunlit grass to another cornfield just over the hillside. The valley of Middle Creek is simply beatiful to behold!

A daily dose of Gemma. Gemma dropped the ball into the pool for us to grab and throw back to her. But if we aren't fast enough Gemma will look over the side like you see here to see if she could possibly grab it from the water I thought this image was really funny. Gemma looks like she is getting ready to pounce on the ball and she is definitely keeping a close eye on it as it floats by! I loved how she is crouching over the edge with her rear end up in the air. So close Gemma!

September 16, 2026. Along Myersville Road between Myersville and Middletown. I always catch a glimpse of this barn that sits back off the road as I drive between Myersville and Middletown but I never had a moment where I could stop and grab a photograph. The barn sits right at the entrance to the solar energy farm that is being constructed along Myersville Road so I had an opportunity to pull over at that entrance way and grab a quick image of the barn. The white metal siding and red doors ands roofing really look great against the green forest backdrop and vibrant green grass in front. It looks like summer kitchen sits just in front of the barn. I always wonder how much rural farm beauty lies just out of sight of the roadways where I shoot almost all of my images! I'm always open to invitations to photograph farms that are just out of sight!!

A daily dose of Gemma. What's the first thing you do after spending a day getting all spiffed up at the spa? If you are Gemma you come home and promptly roll in the grass to try and get dirty again! Gemma's squishy ball is underneath her somewhere as she slowly rolls side to side and slides down the hill toward me! She almost looks like she is getting ready to take a nap! Once she gets to the bottom she will pop up and be ready for our walk!

September 15, 2026. Moser (now Shifflett) Farm on Meeting House Road. As I turned onto Meeting House Road from Harp Hill Road, the longhorns in the front pasture of the Shifflett Farm really jumped out at me and I had to stop and capture some images. The farm sits nestled against the hillside with Wildcat Road running behind the farm, The late summer green of the pastureland and the spread of farm buildings across the landscape really looks amazing. On this day, the entire scene sat under a beautiful blue sky full of puffy clouds. The longhorns grazed peacefully as I stopped to take some photographs of the rural vista. I only missed the beautiful horse Tex in this image. Hopefully Jimmy and Renee will tell us the names of the longhorns in the photograph!
