Photographing weddings since 2009, I’ve really honed in my process and approach to wedding photography. Getting the emotions, the journey, the little moments of the day – not just “the shot!” is something that I strive for in every wedding I take on. I truly believe that when you hire a photographer for your wedding day- you should not only enjoy their photographic style, work, and vision, but feel comfortable with them as people, too. You are inviting someone in to photograph some of the most intimate moments of your life- so make sure that you like them! The value of a photograph only increases with time, and I want to make sure that what I’m providing for my clients brings them back to the specific moments they hire me to capture. I want you to have that feeling in your chest- you know the one. I want you to remember how you felt on that day. Ahhh, nostalgia. I want clients to have these photographs to cherish of themselves, and their friends and family. I find that sometimes clients aren’t even really aware of how valuable a photograph is until circumstances change. Having beautiful memories of your loved ones to look back on when they aren’t physically here anymore, in my opinion, is priceless.

I first met Mike when he reached out to plan a secret proposal for his then-girlfriend, Bri. But he had one very specific request: he didn’t want an engagement session afterward. In fact, he didn’t even want Bri to know I had been there. He had plans for those photos at a later date.

So, on a beautiful summer day, I sat in Boston Common with a book in my lap and my camera tucked beside me, waiting for Mike and Bri to arrive. When I spotted them approaching in the distance, I put my book down, grabbed my long lens, and crept a little closer.

Mike asked the question, Bri said YES, strangers congratulated them, and I quietly watched through my camera with a big smile on my face as they walked away to celebrate their engagement, Bri completely unaware that the whole thing had been photographed.

When Mike reached out to me again for their wedding, I was ecstatic. And yesterday, I finally got to see his long game play out!

The rain poured down in buckets, but absolutely nothing could dampen Mike and Bri’s mood. Sage and I started the day at the hotel with them while they got ready. When Bri moved into another room to put on her dress, a black book was waiting for her on the bed.

Her bridesmaids gathered around as she opened it and read a note from Mike wishing her a happy wedding day and telling her about what she about to be viewing in the book. Then, she turned the pages and saw photographs from the day he proposed.

The photographs she had no idea existed.

With tears in her eyes, she looked through photos from that beautiful summer afternoon. I excitedly confirmed that YES, I had been there, and the look of absolute shock on her face was priceless. Mike’s long-planned surprise had officially paid off.

We headed to their venue and, after their first look and wedding party portraits, Sage noticed the rain had stopped! We grabbed Mike and Bri and ran outside, giving us about ten beautiful minutes with the two of them before their ceremony.

Since they had privately shared their vows during their first look, their ceremony was short, sweet, and focused on making it official. Cocktail hour followed with delicious hors d'oeuvres and even a magician before Mike and Bri were officially announced into their reception and shared their first dance.

Heartwarming speeches, dinner, parent dances, and a packed dance floor rounded out an incredible day.

Mike and Bri, thank you SO much for trusting me with not just your wedding day, but this entire story from the very beginning. Keeping that secret all this time was worth it. It was such an honor to photograph you and your families and finally watch Mike’s master plan come together.

I photographed K & K’s wedding a couple of years ago, so when I saw on Instagram that they had welcomed a baby girl, I was so happy for them! And when they reached out for a family session with little M, I was thrilled and so honored to work together again.

They chose to have their session at home, which was the perfect setting. We took photos in their living room, little M’s nursery, and finished up outside. Even their dog, who is an absolute sweetheart, got in on the photos!

Guys, it was such a pleasure to work with you again and finally meet little M. Thank you so much for having me! Leave some love for this beautiful family, and until next time. ❤️

Yesterday was a muggy but beautiful summer day in Rhode Island for Rob and Sam's wedding at Hope Events on Main in Pawtucket!

I started my day with Sam and her family, taking a few getting ready photos and photographing some of the details in their reception space before the day got underway. From there, we headed upstairs to the bowling alley, which was built in the 1920s, for Sam and Rob's first look.

After some portraits of the two of them, we brought the family in for photos in the bowling alley. We joked that it felt a little illegal to be so far up on the lanes! Everyone navigated the gutters with ease, and we got some great family and wedding party photos before heading over to the ceremony space.

With its tall ceilings and soft white light, the ceremony space was the perfect spot for the I dos. After the ceremony, we took a few more family photos before heading back over to the bowling alley, where hors d'oeuvres and a little bowling made the perfect backdrop for cocktail hour merriment.

The reception got underway back downstairs with heartfelt speeches, a delicious dinner, and a guest-wide game of LRC, which was a blast! During the game, Rob, Sam, and I snuck outside because the sky was doing some pretty cool stuff for sunset. It was nice to have a few quiet minutes to chat with the newlyweds and take some more beautiful photos of the two of them.

We headed back inside with the rain at our backs and were very happy to be back in the air conditioning. The game of LRC wrapped up, and some late-night dancing and chatter were underway as I headed out the door.

Sam and Rob, thank you so much for having me! I loved working with the two of you and your friends and family.

Yesterday I had the honor of photographing Andrew's proposal to Sydni at the beautiful Ropes Mansion in Salem, Massachusetts.

From the moment Andrew reached out, his excitement was palpable! He and Sydni were in Massachusetts for a friend's wedding and decided to spend some time exploring Salem. Knowing how much Sydni loves the city's beauty and history, Andrew thought there couldn't be a more perfect place to propose.

We secretly coordinated over email throughout the day, and I was in position before they arrived, photographing flowers and doing my best impression of a tourist. As they wandered through the gardens, admiring the blooms, Sydni happily stopped to take photos along the way. Andrew gave me one last glance to make sure I was ready, I gave him a thumbs-up, and he got down on one knee.

Sydni's smile said it all. With cheers from nearby onlookers, she said yes!

I had been trailing them for a little while to stay out of sight, so when Andrew pointed me out afterward, I walked over laughing and said, "Hi, I'm the creepy photographer!" After we all introduced ourselves and shared a laugh, I asked, "Ready for your engagement photos?" Sydni grinned and replied, "Yes!"

We started around the Ropes Mansion before wandering to a few of Salem's most iconic spots. We wrapped up our session at the Salem Witch Museum, then walked together for a bit before heading our separate ways.

Andrew and Sydni, congratulations again! Thank you for trusting me to capture such an incredible moment. I had so much fun celebrating with you both, and I hope you have safe travels home and an amazing time planning your wedding!

Friday night I headed down to Poughkeepsie, New York in preparation for Erin & Gerard's wedding the next day!

I met Erin and Gerard through our mutual friend Sage, whom many of you may recognize as one of my friends and trusty second photographers. Sage was part of the bridesquad and recommended me to photograph their wedding, and I was so honored when they reached out. Over the past year, I've had so much fun getting to know Erin and Gerard, and I knew from our conversations that their wedding would be full of personal touches and surprises. It absolutely did not disappoint.

Saturday's forecast called for rain and thunderstorms, so Erin and Gerard came up with an incredible backup plan: the beautiful Poughkeepsie MTA Station. Its stunning architecture made the perfect setting for portraits while keeping everyone dry.

I started the day with Erin and Gerard's first look. As Gerard waited facing the Hudson River, their family and wedding party hid just out of sight behind the station walls. When Erin walked toward him, everyone erupted into cheers. Their first look was filled with happy tears, laughter, and so much emotion. We followed it with family portraits, wedding party photos, and a few portraits of just the two of them before gathering everyone for one epic wedding party photo inside the station. After a few more portraits around The Grandview, it was finally time to get these two married.

Because of the weather, the ceremony was moved indoors, where it was beautifully officiated by their close friend, Duane. Erin and Gerard exchanged heartfelt vows that had more than a few eyes glistening. Then came one of my favorite surprises of the day: hidden beneath one guest's chair was an envelope. Whoever found it earned the honor of signing the marriage certificate as a witness. What a fun and meaningful way to include a loved one in such an important moment.

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour before everyone gathered for the reception. Erin and Gerard made their grand entrance and shared their first dance while a slideshow of photos from throughout their relationship played behind them.

Then... everything changed.

Suddenly, the slideshow cut to a pirate flag. A pirate and his henchmen stormed the dance floor, shoved Gerard into a burlap sack, and kidnapped him. Erin immediately took off after them to rescue her brand-new husband.

What followed was one of the most creative reception surprises I've ever seen. A video played showing Erin finding a sword and riding off on horseback in search of Gerard, while Gerard sat imprisoned, tallying days on the wall and looking thoroughly defeated. Eventually, Gerard escaped, leaving Erin a note to meet him back at The Grandview so they could finally defeat the pirates together.

The two returned to the dance floor, where Erin faced off against the pirate captain in a full choreographed sword fight. After an epic battle, Erin emerged victorious, the pirates were defeated, and the newlyweds celebrated with a kiss as their guests erupted into applause.

It was the very first sword fight I've ever photographed at a wedding, and it was every bit as incredible as it sounds.

For anyone wondering... yes, there's a reason it was so good! Erin and Gerard are both heavily involved in theater, and Erin is actually a sword fight choreographer. Safe to say they absolutely nailed it.

The rest of the evening was just as thoughtful, filled with personal details and nods to their life together. The dance floor stayed packed all night, and it was impossible not to smile watching everyone celebrate these two.

Erin and Gerard, thank you so much for trusting me to capture such an unforgettable day. It was truly an honor, and I had an absolute blast celebrating alongside you both.

Wednesday, I had the honor of photographing Isabella and Corey’s intimate elopement at Aragosta at Goose Cove in Deer Isle, Maine.

A few weeks ago, I met Isabella’s sister, Felicia, and her fiancé, Aeven, to chat about their wedding next year. Before we wrapped up, Felicia asked, “Are you free on July 8th?” I told her, “I can be—what’s up?” She smiled and said she was officiating her sister’s wedding in Maine and wanted to hire a photographer to capture it. Needless to say, I was all in.

On Wednesday evening, Bella and Corey exchanged heartfelt vows with their two dogs, Cooper and Theodore, by their side. Their ceremony was lovingly officiated by Felicia, with Aeven there to celebrate alongside them, making it a truly intimate day. After a short but incredibly meaningful ceremony, the newlyweds said "I do," exchanged Ring Pops (since their actual wedding bands hadn't arrived just yet), and sealed it all with a kiss.

Bella and Corey were staying in one of the cozy cabins at Aragosta at Goose Cove, with dinner reservations waiting for them after we finished. Before they headed off to celebrate as newlyweds, we wandered a nearby trail, taking in the beauty of the Maine coast and creating portraits that felt true to them. We wrapped up the evening back on the beach with Felicia and Aeven, where the sun dipped below the horizon and painted the sky in the dreamiest shades of pink and blue.

As if the day couldn't have been any more special, Bella and Corey asked me to sign their marriage license as one of their witnesses. It was such an honor, and something I'll always remember.

Bella, Corey, Felicia, and Aeven—thank you for trusting me to document such a special chapter of your lives. It was an absolute honor to be there, especially with one of my best friends, Danielle, by my side assisting me throughout the evening. Thank you all for making us feel so welcome. It was a day I won't soon forget. 🤍

Yesterday was a gorgeous day in the city for Christina & Jackson's intimate elopement in Boston!

I met Jackson and his family at Trinity Church in Copley Square, where we started with family photos before making our way across the street to Boston Public Library for Christina and Jackson's first look. After spending some time with both families, we returned to Trinity Church for portraits of the newlyweds before taking a stroll through the Boston Public Garden, where we captured a few more photos beneath the beautiful willow trees.

From there, we headed to Davio's Northern Italian Steakhouse, where Christina and Jackson exchanged heartfelt vows surrounded by their closest family and friends. The celebration continued with touching speeches from Christina and her mom, followed by cake before everyone sat down to dinner.

Earlier in the week, we had been preparing rain plans during our final meeting, but Mother Nature had other ideas. Instead, we were treated to the most perfect summer day in Boston, and I couldn't have asked for better weather for these two.

Christina & Jackson, thank you so much for inviting me to be part of such a meaningful day. It was truly an honor and a joy to celebrate with you both. Congratulations! ❤️📸

Yesterday was a gorgeous day for an engagement party... and a surprise wedding!

Sara and Robert invited their nearest and dearest to what everyone believed was an engagement party at Look Park. Guests enjoyed delicious grilled cheese sandwiches from Say Cheese! (I highly recommend the Figgin' Goat!) and an ice cream truck for dessert while celebrating the happy couple.

About an hour into the festivities, Sara gathered everyone together to thank them for coming. As she wrapped up her speech, she casually added something along the lines of, "Oh, by the way... this is our wedding!"

The crowd erupted into cheers as family and friends realized what was happening. There were shocked faces, happy tears, and huge smiles all around as Sara and Robert revealed their surprise.

A short and heartfelt ceremony followed, and just like that, they were married!

Afterward, everyone enjoyed ice cream while we slipped away for some portraits at the historic Pines Theater. The location was especially meaningful because Sara and Robert spent one of their first dates there. We kept things quick since another wedding was scheduled to begin shortly, but it was the perfect backdrop for a few photos of the newlyweds.

Once portraits were finished, Sara and Robert returned to celebrate with their family and friends, bringing their sweet and joy-filled wedding day to a close.

Yesterday was an absolutely gorgeous late spring evening for Bri & Mike's engagement session! They wanted a beach backdrop, and one of my favorite locations for photos is Half Moon Beach in Gloucester. With so many different looks and a peaceful atmosphere, it's the perfect setting for a session.

I met up with Bri & Mike during golden hour, and despite Mike admitting he was a little nervous at first, you'd never know it from the photos! These two were completely natural in front of the camera and absolutely nailed it.

We wrapped up the evening with a ch*****ne toast as the sun dipped lower over the water. I can't wait to photograph their wedding later this summer!

Saturday felt more like a perfect summer day than late spring, making it the ideal setting for Jenna & Evan's wedding at Pinecroft Estate in Thompson, Connecticut. ☀️

The day began with excitement in both the bridal and groom's suites as Jenna and Evan got ready surrounded by their favorite people. After a sweet first look and family portraits, guests arrived and gathered for a beautiful waterfront ceremony where the couple exchanged vows they had written themselves.

One of my favorite details from the day was how they incorporated their love of music into the reception. Each table was named after one of their favorite albums, with Harvest by Neil Young featured at their sweetheart table. Later, they shared their first dance to Harvest Moon, making the theme even more meaningful.

Guests enjoyed live music during cocktail hour before heading into the barn for dinner, heartfelt speeches, parent dances, and an incredible night of dancing. With the band playing from the loft above the dance floor, the energy was amazing from start to finish.

Jenna & Evan, thank you so much for having me there to document your wedding day. It was such a joy to celebrate alongside you and capture these memories. Congratulations to you both! ❤️
