BIG CONGRATULATIONS to First Flight Senior, Emma Richards who scored her 1,000th career point tonight as the Lady Nighthawks defeated Scotland 51-42 in the first round of the NCHSAA State Playoffs. (Sorry I didn't catch your goal setting basket, but reviewing my photo files over the past four years, I think I have a high percentage of the other 998 points you've scored :-) ) CONGRATULATIONS EMMA!!!! Quite an accomplishment!!!

NIGHTHAWKS WIN AND ADVANCE. Great NCHSAA 3A first round basketball in Kill Devil Hills tonight as third seeded First Flight (22-5) defeated the visiting Jacksonville Cardinals (9-13) 60-52. Next opponent for the 'Hawks is East Wake (19-5) scheduled for Thursday (2/24) - (game time tbd).

BIG CONGRATULATIONS to First Flight Junior, ISSAC DOBIE on scoring his 1000th career point as a Nighthawk last night (2/8/22) at home against Pasquotank County! The Nighthawks won their 11th in a row 84-58,

ISSAC D. had 32 points including 7 - 3's and went 5/6 from from the free throw line.

Big Game for the Nighthawks (18-4, 12-1) tomorrow (Friday) as they travel to Currituck (11-9, 7-5) to face the Knights in the final Northeastern Coastal Conference game of the regular season. A win will clinch a Conference Championship Title for the 'Hawks. The Knights are coming off a big road win at Northeastern and will be looking to play the spoiler at home on their Senior Night. Not Going to Miss This One - Hope to See You There!!! (a few shots from Monday's conference win against Northeastern - Just to get you attention :-) )

The "KDH CRAZIES" filled the Student Section last night when First Flight hosted J.A. HOLMES High School on Senior Night celebrating Class of 2022 Nighthawks' Cheerleaders and Basketball Players. Both the men's (16-4, 10-1) and women's (13-4, 8-3) varsity teams got conference wins this evening against the visiting Aces. Went to First Flight HS tonight, but not to photograph basketball. I went to sit on the sidelines a watch a good game of basketball. The Nighthawks and Bears did not disappoint either. Got to see a GREAT MEN'S VARSITY GAME where First Flight improved to 14-4 (8-1) on the season and held on to a share of first place in the NCC with a 76-73 win over Hertford County 13-5 (8-2). The Nighthawks travel to match up with Northeastern 12-2 (7-1) tomorrow night. Just might be worth a ride to E.City to catch this one. (I did take the camera and managed a few shots from the mid-court sideline - here are some quick edits :-) ).
