I’m photographing so many rites of passage this Spring! I photographed twin boys celebrating their bnai mitzvah one weekend and twin girls receiving their First Communion the next. Although I have a lot of “side-by-side, looking at the camera and smiling” photos, I think I like these two the best.

I got to see my outstanding niece co-captain her team to win the fifth game of their so-far-undefeated season last week AND brush off the old 300-mm telephoto lens!

You know what's awesome about working with David Nazario's team at https://apbentertainment.com? The mic always works! No really. I mean, yes, the dance floor is full. It's all very fun. But you know what happens at weddings ALL the time? The father of the bride (or maid of honor or best man) goes to give their speech, and then... nothing. Maybe there's a screech of feedback. They tap the mic. The DJ scrambles. They wind up trying to shout. That just never happens with this company. The father of the bride made a beautiful comparison to the song "Our House" by Crosby, Stills and Nash in his toast. Then, after the cake was cut, the DJ played the song. It was a beautiful little touch- so subtle, so personal. And you could hear every word.

Last Friday I had the local Girl Scout troop come into the studio to work on their photography badge. When I was in sixth grade, my elementary principal taught me some of the same basics I taught these girls the other day. That "photo club" absolutely set me on my path to having photography be my passion, my hobby, my career, my volunteer work. Just for fun, the black and white photo is a picture of me and my sister in the local newspaper for an article about cookie sales when I was a Brownie in 1987. (I'm the scout on the bottom right.)

I love, love, love working with families multiple times throughout the years. Eman just became a bar mitzvah, and *I'm kvelling.* Look how much he's grown in eight years!
