Good morning, QH!
Have received a couple of reports regarding the Mama bear and cub in the neighborhood. We're all aware of the bears in the 'hood, but please be particularly wary of the Mama and cub, as she is doing her job and acting protectively. Please keep your kids and pets close when out and about, as the bears are around both at night and in daylight....

Upcoming events:
- Halloween is next month! QH will be having a Halloween decorating contest this year! Get your ghouls and goblins ready for some fun, and for anyone new to the neighborhood, just GET READY! Quail Hollow is known as a Halloween destination, and we get hundreds of kids and families.

-Annual meeting is being scheduled, will likely be held in November, we'll keep you posted on exact date. Please plan to attend to hear updates on issues, including the likely possibility of changing property management companies.

- QH Website will be going "live" within weeks! Still working on details of posting on the site in addition to posts on Facebook.

Good evening, Quail Hollow! A couple of things of importance:
1) LEASH YOUR DOGS!!! It is a Collier County violation to have your dog off a leash in our neighborhood. Your dog might be "fine", but that doesn't mean another leashed dog will be. Please take your dog to a dog park to run free, but leash your dog in the 'hood. Let's avoid calls to Domestic Animal Services....
2) XFINITY: There is apparently a damaged piece of equipment that Xfinity/comcast will need to fix this week. They estimate that repairs will occur on/around Aug 25th, Tuesday, and it will interrupt internet services. Everyone with their services should have received an email, but just in case, we're posting it here. If you work from home you may want to plan to work at the library or something that day...
3) BEARS: Bears are unfortunately showing even more signs of not being afraid of people or other animals. 2 fences were knocked down in the last 2 weeks, by bears either entering or leaving backyards. It's sad, because they have no where to go with all the building. Remember that they come around even more if we do things to attract them (store food outdoors or in loose containers, have delicious smelling garbage cans.... ). Please be aware when out walking, no matter the time of day, as they have been seen out at all hours of the day. Even more reason to leash your dogs and keep your kids close.
Let's keep Quail Hollow a safe and pleasant place for all!

Good afternoon, Quail Hollow! It's July 1st, the 4th is almost upon us.

THANK YOU to the wonderful neighbor who put up the flags in front and along the streets in the neighborhood. It looks great, and it's much appreciated!

Good evening, Quail Hollow! Please be aware that Mandalay (the subdivision that backs up to us from Rattlesnake Hammock) will be cleaning out their swales over the next few days. So for anyone who backs up to Mandalay, you may be hearing Bobcat tractors and have yard people behind your property clearing things away. Also, please know that they are aware that some people in Quail Hollow dump their yard waste over the fence into the swale, and will be taking pictures. Please let us know if any problems arise from their cleaning. Thanks!

Good evening Quail Hollow! Please be aware that there are now THREE bears in the neighborhood. What appears to be a "mama", a juvenile, and a cub are roaming the area, and do not seem to be afraid of people.... Sadly, their whole habitat is being taken away by building, so they are down to very small pieces of wooded area, and they are definitely claiming it, both at night and in the daylight!

So, please be very aware of your surroundings anytime you are outside your home. Try not to do anything to attract them (leave "fresh" food in your garbage can, have pet food out on lanai, have garbage cans with "drippings" on the inside, etc), and definitely do not approach them. Please be very mindful of your kids and pets, as again, they are not afraid of people and have approached.

Speaking of kids and pets.... we continue to get complaints about kids going onto other people's properties/into their yards without permission, and off leash dogs approaching leashed dogs and getting aggressive. Please make sure that any animals outside of your home are leashed so that DAS does not have to be called, and please make sure that your kids know they can't be in other people's yards without permission from the owner. Let's all try to be good neighbors, but more importantly, stay safe! Thanks!

Good afternoon, Quail Hollow. There are a couple of dogs roaming the hood that it seems people are unfamiliar with: a mid size black dog and a smaller off white/brown dog. If anyone is looking for them, they are toward the front of the neighborhood. They won't go near the person who is seeing them, so we're unable to get numbers or anything. If you know who they belong to, please let them know! Thanks.

Good afternoon, Quail Hollow!! Please be aware that the company that routinely cleans out the preserves is on site starting today. They will be addressing the "exotic/non native" growth in all the preserve areas, so don't be alarmed if you see them out and about, including behind your homes.

Also, there has been a lot of discussion lately regarding children playing in the neighborhood. We all love having children in the hood, it's been great getting new families, and the sound of children playing is wonderful! HOWEVER, there have also been numerous complaints about where and when the children are playing, namely unsupervised in the street or running through other people's yards. Out of safety for your kids and respect for your neighbors, please make sure your kids have adult supervision and are playing in their own yards or have permission to be in someone else's. Many neighbors spend a lot of time working on their landscaping, so to have kids trampling it or attempting to pluck things isn't helpful. Please also be respectful of people who work super early in the morning and are trying to sleep in the evening.

Quail Hollow is a great, family neighborhood, let's keep it safe and pleasant for all residents by respecting each other's properties and differences, and following the covenants. Thanks, everyone!

Good evening Quail Hollow!
In case you haven't noticed, the speed limit was lowered from 30 mph to 25mph in QH!!! As this is a neighborhood full of walkers, bike riders, animals and children, this is a good thing! However, it has become clear that people are not paying attention as they drive down the street, either still speeding or dealing with their phones and music vs watching the road. PLEASE exercise caution when driving in Quail Hollow!

Also, please remember that parking anywhere other than the driveway of your home is prohibited with the exception of a short gathering or service vehicles attending to your home. So cars that are parked on the lawn or street for days or nights at a time, please understand that you can be ticketed and if blocking access you will be towed.

Summer is approaching quickly, it's light later into the evening, lots of folks and critters out and about enjoying the weather. Let's keep it safe for everyone! Thanks!
