I was super excited when Down East Magazine contacted me about using my photograph of the Bob Dunning Memorial Bridge as the cover for this month's issue. I thoroughly enjoy being a contributing photographer and workshop leader for this amazing magazine, but it is quite an honor to make the cover! It is especially rewarding to have my area of Maine represented. Bridgton is filled with art galleries, unique gift shops, a book shop, antique shops, lakes, hiking trails and great restaurants. This bridge is the entrance to beautiful walking trails in Pondicherry Park. If you haven't been to this beautiful town, it is definitely worth a visit!

I am still working through some images from back in October. It is kind of nice because it makes it feel like I am living through Fall a little longer. One of my favorite parts of Fall, besides the beautiful colors, is the presence of fog in the mornings. A cold yet vibrant fall morning on one of my favorite roads in my hometown. The fog was so thick where I wanted to set up so I had to fly above to capture some images. I hope you enjoy :)

Autumn rose slowly from the water on this morning at the end of October. The mist drifting across the lake, soft pastels in the sky, and the trees standing in perfect stillness. There’s something special about watching the world wake up in this kind of quiet.

Captured at a popular spot in Eaton, NH when the fog rolled in thick and heavy, softening every line and turning the lake into a dreamscape of color and light. To me fog makes me feel at peace. How does this photo make you feel?

~Golden Light~
As a child we spent hours playing in the woods. Whether it was building forts, playing hide and seek or just exploring it was a natural playground. I am so glad I grew up before the internet took over. I often feel sad for kids today that spend more time on screens then out in Nature. In a world that’s mostly online, sharing these quiet moments in nature feels like a small way to bring peace back into the feed — a reminder to slow down, look closer, and feel grounded.

~Heart of Trees~
A thick foggy morning last week was the perfect time to fly my drone. I especially love fog during the fall. Here in Western Maine, we have had such brilliant orange and yellows this year! This section of an old farming field had such a cool shape to it from above. From above, the world dissolves into a quiet dreamscape.

I woke up early last week to catch the fog, and the forest didn’t disappoint. Golden fog, crisp air, and colorful understory. Mornings like this remind me why I fell in love with photography. There’s something magical about how autumn light filters through the forest.

~Backyard Memories~
The leaves change, but some memories like a tire swing stay timeless. I drove past this little scene and had instant feelings of a time when life felt simpler and there was so much joy from swinging in the air as a child.

~Morning's Mirror~
The sky turned the softest shade of pink at sunrise, casting its glow across the still surface of the lake like a watercolor painting come to life. It felt like time paused for a moment, letting the world breathe in the beauty. Nature is such a nice escape from the worries of the world.

Fall feels like Nature's masterpiece before the winter moves in. All the beautiful colors and golden glow are like eye candy. I am always on the search for birch trees, and this stone wall was an added bonus!
