OVERNIGHT PARKING
Tonight the Infrastructure Committee took up Alderman Johnson's ordinance on overnight parking. It was a good discussion and one I know a lot of residents have been following.
A few things worth sharing:
The City has a process for temporary needs. If you're dealing with driveway paving, a construction project, a kid home from college, overnight guests, or another temporary hardship, you can request an overnight parking exception right now:

A broader pilot is also in the works. We discussed that the city is developing a pilot program to address overnight parking in certain areas more permanently. Look for that to come back to committee in September. I'll keep you posted as it develops.
The Parking Department's goal remains consistency, transparency, fairness, and respect for every resident, and that's the spirit we're trying to bring to this conversation as well.

First garden report of the spring? Letโ€™s dig in! Itโ€™s mid-May and already we are saying goodbye to the dazzling blooms of daffodils, creeping phlox, crabapples, and tulips (though, I have a few stubborn Queen of the Night tulips that are hanging on even through this heat).
