I spent at least an hour tonight setting up lights and moving them around, only to have my favorite shot turn out to be the simplest one with the most minimal lighting. Lesson learned.

Playing with cinematic lighting inspired by my second favorite Kubrick film, “Eyes Wide Shut.” These are ok, but I think I could’ve done better. My three very helpful pups kept insisting on being in the shots. (One pup may or may not have been sloppily edited out of one of these photos. 😂)

Listen, I wish I had a contact list full of models and friends here in Nashville who are all super comfortable in front of the camera, whom I could call upon at a moment’s notice whenever the inspiration strikes, but I don’t. So, my apologies, but you all may be seeing some half-naked selfies of me more often, and I may or may not be wearing this same teddy in all of them bc I don’t buy lingerie ever. However, I am not the point of these photos. If I post some selfies, just know that it’s bc I’m really happy with the lighting I was able to achieve.

Such was the case with this series. I’ve been re-watching Euphoria, and I couldn’t help but be inspired. I wasn’t sure I could pull off a nighttime look in the middle of the day, but I was pretty happy with these!

So, I guess I’m doing that end-of-the-year-reflection thing. (Aren’t we all?) After going through some big life changes during these final months of 2022, I am now 100% certain that, in 2023, I’m meant to learn how to let go of always needing to know what’s around every corner and become more comfortable with trusting that the Universe always has my back. That is why I plan to spend this new year saying YES to as many opportunities as possible, beginning with the opportunity I was recently given that’s going to allow me to travel more as a contractor, still doing what I love! When I’m not busy traveling, though, I want to get back into doing more photoshoots (film and/or digital) purely for fun and as a creative outlet, which I haven’t really done in a few years.

So, if we’ve worked together in the past and you’re interested in having another “play date” with me, or if I haven’t had the pleasure of photographing you yet, but you’d like to arrange a photoshoot with me sometime this coming year, please DM me! I have a feeling 2023 is going to be epic! ❤️‍🔥
