This azalea bush has been growing at my parent’s home in Louisville, Kentucky since I was a kid and makes me happy everytime I visit & see it so I wanted to capture this photo for myself as I ponder this question.. what does home mean to me?

I’m thankful to still be able to visit my childhood home. Although, I do not call this place my home. Yes, it was my home before but I haven’t lived there since I was 19 and I am 30 now.

I use to feel lost not having or feeling a sense of home because I thought these feelings were rare and only something i could only feel as a child (aka a sense of security, comfort and love). Although after years of therapy and healing I asked myself this question… And I answer it now…

What home means to me is a place of security, comfort & love I’ve built within & for myself. My dog & cat by my side, my garden, surrounded by the ones I love & that love me but most of all, the healing work I’ve put into my mind, body & soul. It has given me more comfort & peace than I’ve felt ever before thriving in a beautiful place I made for myself. Which in turn helps me create beautiful photographs that I choose to share with you all on this page.

Life is truly what you make it so why not make yourself, your home a lovely place to grow in? 🏠 🌺

I just finished a wedding edit and looking forward to starting a family photo session edit next 📷

Along with that I’m diving into this book called, 📖 the Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron. It’s like a workbook but for any and everyone to tap into their creative side. I feel like every creative person has this issue where you feel like there are so many ideas bottled up but no where to start. Although what’s funny is I have already “started” the process and creating of still learning and creating over and over again. And it will never end. So everything I want and feel to do I just need to do it. And let it all flow freely 💫

I hope in the next few weeks I can offer some insight or inspiration for others to read this book or just start doing whatever project, idea, anything you want to do! I enjoy seeing all of your all’s content on here as always. Social media is annoying yet i love Instagram overall because (if used wisely and in a healthy way) it can be a beautiful place for other’s creativity, thoughts, small businesses, and more to thrive! And for myself to seek more inspiration 💕

Overall, I am so grateful as always and I cannot wait to dive into this book to help me unlock some inner creative voice I maybe haven’t even accessed yet! We shall see… 👀
