There’s something about those first few weeks of fall that I just LOVE.

The temperatures start to cool off, the evenings get that beautiful golden glow, but the trees are still full of green. It’s the perfect little in-between season for photos!

And honestly? Early fall minis might be my favorite!

You get all the cozy fall feeling without the super chilly temperatures, plus your photos will be ready with plenty of time to get those Christmas cards ordered.

Every now & then,
I get the opportunity to shoot at locations
that hold sentimental value to my clients.
Each time, it feels like i’m being invited into something special
and capturing something they’re going to truly hold onto.

We all piled in their golf cart
and took a drive that they’ve taken countless times before.
To the back of their neighborhood,
down a beaten path;
the trees opened up to this beautiful rock beach...
one they’ve made memories at more times than just this.

They danced.
They played.
They enjoyed time together
in a place that was all too familiar.

The photos became more than just nice outfits
and beautiful backdrops.
They felt more like a cherished memory,
a stamp in time...
a feeling they’ll want to pull out of the photo book for years & years to come.

For me, it was all a blur.

The restless nights,
feedings around the clock,
countless diaper changes,
and the ever piling laundry of tiny sleepers.

The struggle between choosing to rest
or to feed myself
or maybe shower for the first time in days.

The praying and wishing for this stage to go by fast,
all while wishing I could hold onto it and keep my baby this little forever.

The newborn stage really is so sweet but it all ended up a blur for me. It’s one of the reasons I LOVE capturing this stage for you. I want to bottle up all these feelings, all the tiny details and every little perfection that makes this part of parenthood so special—so that all the wonderful parts of this fleeting chapter doesn’t have to be a blur for you too. 🤍

As we step into family photo season,
let’s remember what truly matters…

This isn’t about looking perfect.
It’s not a competition or a beauty contest.
It’s not for social media.
These photos are for you...
for your family, your memories, your story.

You don’t need to wear more makeup than you feel comfortable in.
You don’t need to buy outfits you’ll never wear again.
You don’t have to force perfection.
You don’t have to try to pretend to be some other version of yourself.

I met this sweet family when they were a family of 5,
and over the years I’ve had the honor of watching them grow into a family of 7.

There is something really special about being invited back year after year, season after season.
With time, it stops feeling like “a photo session” and starts feeling familiar in the best way.

The kids don’t have to warm up to me anymore. We already know each other.
They walk in with confidence, personality, and ideas of their own. They start suggesting poses, spots, and silly moments before I even ask.

That kind of comfort changes everything. It lets their personalities come through so naturally.
Nothing forced,
nothing stiff,
just them exactly as they are in this season of life.
..and for me, it is such a gift to not just document how your family looks as it grows, but to actually witness who you are becoming along the way.

These are the sessions that remind me why I love what I do!
