I’m kinda partial to my Ocoee community but I’d bet this applies to a ton of other ones too.

I recall a story I heard years ago about two families moving to the same new town.

One family pulls in to the gas station and starts talking to the employee at the store about how much they hated where they were from and how terrible it was there. Then they asked how they would find things in this new community. The person replied, you’ll probably find it the same way here.

A second family pulls in to the exact same gas station and talks to the same person just a few moments later. This family talks about how much they loved their former neighbors and community. They asked the person, how would they find things in this new town. They replied, you’ll probably find it the exact same way here.

So much is perspective. Stay positive and be the difference you want to see in the world or maybe just in your community.

Kejimkujik National Park and Historic Site is a stunning UNESCO Biosphere Reserve located in Nova Scotia, Canada. Jody and I recently spent 2 nights and 3 days paddling over 40 kilometers on 9 beautiful lakes with our favorite being the most remote of the bunch, Peskawa Lake. Have you paddled in this beautiful park? What was your favorite lake?

We had a great time exploring the Highland Living Museum outside of Baddeck, NS. A dreary day made for a beautiful setting to learn about the migration of Scottish Highlanders moving to Cape Breton in Nova Scotia.

Pictured includes one of their historians in character including her 1700’s style Hebridean Blackhouse (taken with permission). The first and second images are my favorite from this collection.

Addition images include a wood home settlers in 1770’s Cape Breton would have first lived in and a Malagawatch Church built in 1874. In 2003 they loaded it onto a barge and moved it 15 nautical miles before it made it to its forever home.

Today’s Lobster Roll is from the Rusty Anchor on the west side of Cape Breton here in Nova Scotia.

Immediate thoughts… simple and extremely tasty! Price point, a bit high for a smaller roll… but super fresh.

We may love whitewater but kayaking out to see these stunning sea stacks was one of the highlights from our time along the Bay of Fundy. These were taken from the back of a tandem sea kayak as we were paddling along the beautiful Three Sisters formations. Nikon Z8 14-30mm f4 s

The high tide paddle was the perfect end to our week exploring West Advocate, Cape Chignecto and the beautiful Apple River. Big shoutout to and our guide Damien for a truly unforgettable experience on the Bay of Fundy
