Some stories deserve more than just a pretty picture. ❤️

This mama has moved mountains for her kids. She has fought for them, stood beside them, carried them through the hard days, and loved them fiercely through it all.

And somehow, in the middle of everything life has asked of her, she has created a place where these two know they are safe, loved, and never alone.

Looking through this gallery, I don’t just see a mom and her kids. I see strength. I see sacrifice. I see laughter after hard days. I see a mama who would do absolutely anything for the two people standing beside her.

These are the stories I love getting to capture—the ones where you can actually feel the love. ❤️

Sometimes you just have to find the pretty. 🌻

We caught this sunflower field toward the very end of its season. Most of the blooms were tired, drooping, and well past their prime… but tucked here and there were still a few beautiful ones hanging on.

So we picked the prettiest we could find, tucked these three into the flowers, waited for that warm sunset glow—and this happened. ❤️

Honestly, I think that’s part of the magic of photography. You don’t always need the perfect location, the perfect flowers, or the perfect conditions. Sometimes you just need to look a little closer, find what’s beautiful, and make something out of it.

And that happy pup right in the middle? Pretty sure he understood the assignment. 😂🌻

Sixteen years ago, I bought my very first camera.

Not because I dreamed of owning a photography business.

Not because I thought I’d one day photograph weddings and families.

I bought it because of her.

I didn’t want to miss the little moments…the smiles, the freckles, the adventures, the seasons that seemed like they’d last forever.

Somewhere along the way, that little camera turned into a career that has allowed me to preserve thousands of memories for other families.

And now here we are.

Sweet sixteen.

It’s amazing how quickly the tiny hands you once held become the hands that hold giant balloons.

She’ll always be the reason I picked up a camera, and I’m so thankful I did. ❤️

Sometimes the best adventures aren’t the ones we plan.

I came ready with my camera.
He came ready to fill his pockets with roly-poly’s!

Every few steps there was another tiny discovery—a beetle hiding under a leaf, a grasshopper waiting to leap, a millipede slowly making its way home. The photos became secondary as curiosity took over.

Childhood isn’t about perfect poses. It’s about muddy knees, full pockets, tiny treasures, and the freedom to wonder.

I didn’t just photograph a little boy…
I photographed an explorer. 🐞🦋🪲
